Has anybody seen this? The Varex exhaust system from Xforce, for the Commodore SS / SSV / VE - crazy! You can control the sound and flow of the exhaust through a remote control system that opens / closes small butterfly gates between the tips and the muffler, routing the exhaust to different places depending on the gate's position. I wonder how much this costs....what a great idea!

JHP carries it for 2200 - australian dollars, I guess, which converts to 1691 US as of today...but I may be wrong, these may be US dollars. And they have it for the G8 - http://jhp.com.au/g8partsdirect/ExhaustUpgrades.htm

Very nice but too pricey for me. Saw a similar muffler by Patriots on Horsepower TV this morning.

You can just pick up the mufflers for allot less than that...

check this out, http://www.g8board.com/forums/showpost.php?p=197058&postcount=32

This is waaay cheaper (even cheaper than the majority of the muffler systems) and allows you to keep a nice quiet exhaust or get down right obnoxious when you want to.

I have these DMH cutouts on my car and it sounds unbelievable. I would recommend these to anyone! The only real pain is trying to find a location in the console to mount the switch. Not a lot of options, but I found one spot down next to the emergency brake handle. I also chose that spot because if I want to replace the piece, I can get it on the internet for $8 + shipping.

Here is a link to cbudweiser's video of his car with the exact location and manufacturer cutouts that I have.

I plan on doing a video of my exhaust hopefully by this weekend. If I get it done I will post it in this thread.

Yah Ive heard that one and its sounds pretty sick from the short clip. Just wanting a little bit more. Maybe...Idle, rev, take off. Im really liking this idea however Im wondering the the Stealership will say about it and warranty.

I heard that it shouldn't affect the warranty since they are placed after the catalytic converters and they are after the 02 sensors.

So the way I look at it, it is just like removing the mufflers from the car when they are open.

That is what I am planning to do for my video. I will plan on having it done no later than Monday, but I will push to have it done earlier. I know, waiting sucks!!!:turbonaughtdy_1:

Hey CR8 - what do you think of the Varex - is it worth it? Does it sound good? I've hear dit on the videos, but you can't ever tell until you hear it in person...I love the idea of closing it down when coming home to the house late at night....my neighbors live right on top of me, and I would like to be considerate...

it's really really useful especially my country were the police very strict with exhaust sound

the sound really nice and the video even when it's HD quality but it dose not give the real sound

installed from two months and no issues in term of the closen valves

you can get just the rear muffler and attach it with kooks headers and the x pipe (believe me with all these when it closed it's even more silent than stock exhaust)

Thanks , what do you know or think about Magnaflow axle-back. Don't want loud exhaust but some V-8 rumble will be ok.

I went with the cutouts instead of putting on any muffler system. This way if I just want a nice quiet ride I can close them up. Then when I want it loud just open those babies up!
