Now that GM is bringing the GXP here I wanna see how the G8 GXP fairs against the Audi RS4, the new M3 and the G8 GXP. I figure they all should be pretty close as they all are in the same ballpark with specs except for price. Audi fired first with the AWD 420hp V-8 RS4 which is an amazing car then Bimmer countered with the new 414hp V-8 M3 and now I personally think Pontiac can say they can put their hat in that ring for a fraction of the cost. :eek2:

Might as well add the C63. But these are all small cars compared to the G8.

right, you should compare to the m5. AMG E class, RS6. They have similar mass to the G8 and the cost differential will be even larger

It surely looks like Lutz's strategy to give Pontiac "affordable BMWs" is coming to pass with the G8 GXP. No matter how much better the German uber sedans are when compared to the GXP, the price differences are so great as to render the Germans irrelevant but for a monied few.

Desireable performance cars are so darned expensive, so its nice to see one on-sale that an average American can actually afford and enjoy.

Lutz was involved with it but it was Lee Iacocca's call. Iacocca probablay would admit today that not letting Lutz succeed him was the biggest mistake he made at Chrysler.

The GXP is a shot at the M3. If they were looking for M5 territory, they would have thrown in a supercharger.

BMW publishes that the M3's 0-60 is 4.8 Seconds.
The GXP's is currently published as 4.7 and that will probably hold.

Mind you the GXP is around 300lbs heavier than the M3. And obviously that Tremec is a better transmission. TAKE THAT BMW.

Its up to the suspension after that. Judging by how the VXR8 dealt with the M3... I think the GXP has a change at doing some ego damage to BMW here in the states ;).
