Hey, new to the forum, good to be here. Just pulled in the garage with my new g8. I like it. Runs and handles great. Traded off a 2006 300c. Lots of difference in the two cars. The only bitch I have is the manual shift. Its just not a positive shift between 1st and 2nd. Its seems like it over revs so quick that maybe it hitting the rev limiter and then doesn't shift quickly, 2nd to 3rd and to 4th is fine. The other white g8 did basically the same thing, not as bad. Hopefully gm will fix that. The automatic shift mode is fine. Not a hard shift but positive. Not many of these around, so, be prepared to pay.

You have a L76 plus you have an additional 2 gears, just in case you weren't already aware.

Thanks for the correction, I did know about the 2 extra gears, I've been thru them all several times. I was thinking this was the new ls3 in these cars. I'm old, so I probably got confused. I'm still not drulling yet. This is just about the same 6.0 I'm putting in my short bed, but, mines cast iron block and aluminum cylinder heads and this is all aluminum and my truck will have the lq4 and more hp and torque when I get it done. I still hate the way it shifts and car and driver magizine said the same thing. Hopefully gm will come up with a fix. However, I still like the car.

I'm old and don't know a lot of current car terms, but drulling? Haven't heard that one before! Oh, did you try out the manual part of the trans? You can shift yourself you know.

Yes the manual shift sucks, gm/aussies have some work to do on the computer/tranny. In auto its pretty good, in manual between first and second it feels like you put on the brake and then let off and picked the throttle back up. This ride is a lot better then the 300, faster, better feel thru the wheel and well just a much cooler car. Drooling is the correct term. Drulling is what you do when you are in bad enough shape that you can't drool anymore. Like when the nurse has to clean your ass. Thats drooling at its worst, but, you don't even know if your drooling or drulling. No matter, you are f--ked up. Let the drooling/drulling begin.
