Okay. The headlights on my G8 have been the best of any car I have ever owned. But I've got a couple questions regarding HID's that some guru can hopefully answer.

How much am I looking at total to replace factory setup with HID's??

How long do the bulbs last and how much and how hard is it to find replacements??

Is it really worth the extra cost??

Oh, and what is the difference between the $200+ kits and conversion kits that are sold on ebay for $68.88??

If I can save some green backs by buying a kit such as above off ebay, then I'm going there. But if the old saying, "You get what you pay for" rings true..

Still not completely sold on HID's..

Input please!!

All I know is HIDs need proper assemblies to aim them correctly, and HID bulbs you just stick into he OEM lights will not project properly - they can be diffuse, aimed too high, etc.

Do HIDs come in any form of the G8? I love HIDs on my current car and don't ever want to go back to regular headlights.

To answer some questions, from personal experience the medium to low priced HID's on ebay are just as good as the 500 dollar ones, and plug right in and work great with a little bit of aiming. I did this on my g6 and they work amazing.

Luckily the G8s come with projectors. Though it's not an automatic fix, those will help diffuse the beam much better than a regular, non-HID headlight assembly like those trucks and imports with HID bulbs. I plan on adding HIDs as soon as possible. I love them on my Maxima. In defense of other drivers everywhere, don't get the super bright (hot) ones. You don't need them!
