If you have any pedders questions give myself or either of them a call.

We just finished installing the first pedders suspension on a G8.
The car is phenomenal. we will have pics real soon.

Thanks

I would refer to take a bike ride with the woman in your avatar! If she is yours you are a lucky man!

Both of those places are a pretty good hike from DFW. How long does it normally take to install something like this? Is it something you could do on your own or is it better to leave it to professionals? I am VERY interested in this as well.

It depends on what you plan to do. A strut compressor is required for the front and rear strut / coil installation. A hydraulic press or rattle gun and bush press are required for the bushes. Many people have successfully done installations in thier home shops. Having said that, we provide technical education to ASE Master / GM Certified Techs that are in GM / Pedders shops.

A DIY will take the position that they trust no one else to work on thier vehicle. I understand as I have been there and done that. It is my personal and professional belief that having a skilled, educated technician who has been specially trained to upgrade you G8 is well worth the drive and the labor bill. When you add into that value equation that labor is part of the Pedders warranty when the bits are installed in a Pedders Shop, that may tip the scale for you.

What do we need to do to press for a Pedders shop in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex area? I have an 06 GTO that could also benefit from many of your products...it is just way to hard for me personally to get two cars down to Houston or San Antonio. (and I wish the bike rider in my avatar belonged to me! Ha!)

We thought we had one and for whatever reasons that did not work out.

I have a few shops that I am talking to and determine who we can certify.

Were you at Goatfest?

I am patiently waiting for a shop in Dallas Fort Worth (prefer Fort Worth) :popcorn2: My goat needs a little help...rear springs are sagging bad.

I did not go to Goatfest. Never joined a message board until I started looking at the G8...then that led to joining a board for the GTO and I didnt hear about Goatfest until the week before. Hope to make it next year...

I see that there is a shop - Carolina Auto Masters - in Durham, NC.

Are you looking at any shops in the Charlotte NC area? I'm sure there are some good quality people/shops around the NASCAR capitol.

I would be interested in stiffer springs, but not interested enough to drive 3 hours:)

Why is a Dallas club holding their event in San Antonio?

Not that I'm complaining. If I stand on my roof I can see Retama from my house, it's less than 2 miles away. Shame I won't have my G8 by then, but I'll definately come by.

On a somewhat side note, one of your sponsors, Red McCombs Superior Pontiac GMC is the dealer that tried to sell me a G8 for $3k over sticker a few weeks ago and told me I was a liar when I said I knew people who'd gotten theirs at or under sticker. They said the G8 is a rare, limited pruduction, special edition car and you'll never be able to get one for sticker.

Well DAPA always ran PSN. The San Antonio chapter of Club Grand Prix always ran the Alamo City Shootout...coordinated by yours truly and another Houston member. PSN didn't take place for a couple of years for whatever reason(s). So, we decided after last year's Alamo City Shootout to bring back PSN. During the process, we discovered that DAPA was interested in giving it a go again. So we joined forces and are bringing it to San Antonio.

Red McCombs was one of MANY dealerships that was running a "market premium" on their cars. In fact, Gunn was the only one that wasn't due to their menu pricing format. Now they've all removed the premiums. The salesperson at Superior was just trying to make the sale if they told you it was rare and Special Edition. But in dealing with Superior in the past, that's unlike them.

Anyway, you should definitely come out to join in the festivites. It should be an excellent turnout (PSN usually is) and alot of fun.

Gunn was actually marking theirs $5k over when they first arrived, but within a couple days they'd gone down to sticker. I don't really hold my encounter at Superior against the dealership itself, as the odds are good that any other sales person there would have been a lot more polite. As it is though, I'll probably buy from Gunn as they're only a few miles from me and the sales people there have been very very friendly.
