I'm selling my first G8 and none of the gauges are working nor any of the controls on the dash. Nobody in our service department can figure it out. How can I get this stuff to start working?

Get a tech II and reflash the pcm. I've seen that work a few times on the F bodys

Oh, seems like a pretty serious problem. Just give the car to me and have GM send another one to replace it.

There a logistics connector to isolate certain circuits which may contribute to battery drain while the vehicle is in transit. This connector (blue in color) is located over the battery, which is in the left rear quarter panel behind an access door in the trunk trim.

Just have someone connect the to connectors. Have them check out service document 2083131.

Definitely sounds like a dealer I wouldn't want to buy from.

On page 5-3 'Instrument Panel Brightness'

"Press both instrument panel brightness button at the same time to turn the night panel mode on or off.

Night panel mode lights up the speed, information display an warning reminders while the rest of the instrument panel lights are off."

What this means is the only gauge that works is Speedometer and the DIC. When you press both buttons again you can see the gauges 'jump' back to life.

It looks pretty weird at night with only the Speedometer and DIC light up. But you do get rid of all that 'Pontiac Red' night lighting.

Thanks, I went out there looking around inside the car while the service department was looking through the books and found the connectors.

Glad you found it, give him a break, he admitted he needed help and came to the right place - always help here, thanks! Just met Bradly, nice guy, got a nice grey with red seat inserts G8 GT on the lot, everything but sunroof.
