I just finished wiring and mounting 4 red led's under the seats and under the dash(where gm has always had lights)and the only thing i did't dois hook up the positive.
I want to make them come on with my overhead lights getting in and out of the car(fade and all)
I could trace it out for hours or just have someone who has done it tell me where to look...

Why not just replace the factory bulbs with LEDs? No extra wiring. I'm not sure if they will just turn off or fade out like the factory bulbs.

Nope. Not planning on getting one until the ST appears. I can see where that throws a twist on things.

well man i may be able to atleast help guide you... when i did my gauges in my grand prix i tapped into the dimmer. but the thing is, mine come on with the interior lights, dash and ect. but i dont know how the g8 is set up. pics of the dimmer for interior lights would be great. but you can atleast find which wire helps the dimmer. get any old volt tester and splice into a few wires while dimming up and down. i know this isn't much help but some pics and how it actually works will help me.

well since LEDs dont require many volts... im sure you can trace the overhead hots and splice the LED right into there. So they will go on everytime you push the overhead lights. but it sux cus i dont have a G8 nor can explain how to really wire it. cus i have tons of wiring done on my car. nitrous switch, performance shift switch and custon fog switch.

but don;t worry about volts with LEDs. they can take tons of volts and dont require much. i love LEDs. this will prolly be one of the first mods if the 09' dont have this option. figure the interior is where you are 95% of the time, so mise well make it perfect.
