New Tampa owner here. Panther black GT Premium Package. I'm also looking for a good local tint recommendation. I've always had mine tinted down south, but I don't plan on heading down there any time soon.

There is a shop behind the Hooters in Brandon. They did the tint job on my son's mustang. Good work for around 150.00

Planned mods: Tint, Red/Onyx GM Accessory shifter knob to match the interior, 19in Wheels, CAI, Tune, Partial Debadging (Dealer sticker of course and the word Pontiac on the back), Backup camera, Cleaner iPod install than cable to front aux in. Possibly some exhaust work, but I doubt I'll get around to that.

Most of these are pretty contingent on what I can do under the GFs nose. She already seems a little miffed that I'm driving around in her ring.

Yes, I go north on falkenburg 3 mornings a week..may very well have been me. I saw a Black GT with dealer tags on it early Friday morning going east on 60 at Kings on my way to the gym. Only the second one I have seen. It was from JR as well.

The GTO crew would have meets about every month and have dinner and look at cars but it has died out lately. It was always fun to meet other owners and see what they have done.

Getting a little anxious are we? I saw a black GT at the intersection of the Veterans Exp. and Waters. At first I thought it was a V6 with the GT 18in wheels because the handles weren't chrome rimmed, but it had the taillights, the four outlet exhaust and the badge on the back.

I love seeing them around, but I also liked all the attention from people who hadn't seen one. I drove mine down to Channelside this past weekend and definitely turned a few heads.

I still haven't caught one on the road yet. As far as I'm concerned, I'm the only G8 driver in town. LOL

yep. That's them. For sub 30% up front cash only, no reciept, warrantied only there not nation wide. Thats why I only did 30% up front.

make sure he didnt max anything out.. Formato has been known to over stress engines... not saying he did, but i know plenty of gto, f-bod and vette guys that have had trouble with his tunes... i have also seen a lot with good tunes from him as well, hopefully yours is the latter...

I going to get it installed by Precision Motorsports of Florida. The superchargers didnt even been officially released yet. They told me this Friday the 9-19. So I am not sure when I will get a chance to get it on.

This car is amazing. The only problem now is traction. I disengage traction off the line then engage traction and I would say 0-60 is around 4.2 to 4.7. When I get back I will finish the car then take it to the track. But it is amazing. On the Howard Franklin I hit 145 in no time and the wine is somewhat drowned by the magnaflow.

Pulled into Tijuana Iguana's last night on Dale Mabry and a guy came up to my G8 as I am getting out in the parking lot. Turns out he is a G8 GT driver, too. Had a pic of his on his cell phone... looked awesome and he just wanted to come out and ask about mine. He mentioned G8Board, but for the life of me, I can't remember his name. Sorry man!!

Anyhow, just thought that was funny that even people who own this car can't get enough of it.

Trust me I would love to. But my GF and I are trying to move back into our house. Just finished a huge remodel. And I need to get the garage cleared out by Sunday so I can put my GTO and G8 in it. Hi, I'm new to the board and kind of new to Tampa.
I was amazed when I saw a Tampa thread on this board. I've only seen 1 G8 on the road down here so far, it was a V6 model. The only other cars I see in the area are ricers or welfare wagons!
I'm not a G8 owner (yet). I have a 08 Grand Prix GXP that I wouldn't mind upgrading to a G8, so if anybody know of any sweet G8 deals in the area, send them my way.

Most any dealer in the area will probably give you a great deal on a car they have on their lot. One of the locals just picked up a new 09 from James Rivard in Brandon, and got a great deal. Give them a try.

Sweet...Rivard is right down the road from where I live...Is there any details on the deal he got? I want some ammo before I go to the dealership to look. I want to try to get a decent trade because I owe more on my GXP than it's worth...don't wanna get combed over too bad.

You should be able to get the price down on the car somewhere between 27-28.5K. Red tag is over, but you should still be able to get that price, plus all the rebates.

Saw the Tampa question and decided to check in from Punta Gorda. Just sold my Audi RS 6, now waiting for a friend to drive my 09 GT from Michigan once weather clears. Hope to visit Bradenton Dragway for Saturday test & tune in a couple weeks, though maybe just to watch for now. Has anyone else gone there, or want to? Any meetups planned there or Sarasota? I got my fastest time ever at Bradenton with the stock RS 6 -- 12.95 at 108. The RS 6 is a world class super sedan, the likes of which I may never own again. But its frequent DRC suspension failures, combined with my back's intolerance of available (and stiff) aftermarket setups, made it impractical to keep. Plus I didn't feel like paying $4K for a two year extended warranty that doesn't cover the pricey DRC repairs. Owning the Audi meant frequent trips to Sarasota, though, which wasn't all bad. Very nice town; known about it many years from visiting relatives there and on Longboat Key.

Meanwhile...lil' old Punta Gorda is very popular this weekend. Come for the Sunday festival if you can. Or later, for classic/antique car shows downtown on the first and second Saturdays of each month. Or in the evening on the third Thursday of each month, for Art Walk. More at the link.

Got my '09 GT from Dick Norris last July (what a difference half a year makes in this world!) joined the forum last fall then got distracted by unemployment. Now I'm just glad to know that if I have to live in my car, at least it's my G8. Also glad I'm just kidding about that.
Anyway, I'm in the Eagles but I never see any G8's unless I am forced to drive to NT. Except for an IOM at the Downs who either works there or needs help with a gambling issue...and a red one the other morning in the school zone by Citrus Park (my 10 year old who's already a car guy says "what's wrong with him? he didn't even look)

Tough to tell in motion going the other way. Up until now I've been able to cheat by looking at the tails to tell the V6 from the GT. It's at least a GT. Still a really nice color. Think Sport red might have to be my 3rd option behind Slate Blue and Magnetic Gray now.

you can search for Ferman, Dick Norris, Autoway, Century. Can't really say for sure which one is "the best". which ever one has the best deal, i guess.

New G8 GXP owner here. I am down in St. Pete, is this still an active forum or has it since died? I have yet to see a G8 since I have purchased mine..........also when do you all think they will have mass production of performance parts specifically for the GXP or are they out there and I am just too dumb to find them?

It is Panther Black with the black leather and red inserts for interior, wasn't a big fan of the red at first but it is growing on me. Sunroof, 6spd manual, everything else is pretty much standard on that car they dont have too much extras to add on with it. I just got tint all around and I am looking at replacing the fog/headlights with hopefully a HID kit, kinda pissed that they did not put that on any of the G8's let alone the GXP....GM tisk tisk. Then I am really wanting to find a good header back system like posted above with a good intake and take it to get tuned.

Corsa exhaust uses the same catback for the GT and the GXP. We are currently running a sale on them for $1445. Another option you might want to consider, is upgrade some of your suspension bushings with Pedders parts. Their Street 1 kit is a great starter kit, and will really tighten up the feel of the car when you are pushing it.
