So after seeing all the home made ones, and trying my own with spectre and FAILING. I saw a picture... And well i bought this intake from a GTO. Looks Great, And i believe serves the same purpose of a yella tube or such. Used The stock airbox with a K&N filter.

Please voice your opinions.

Not bad IMO. Cost me $30. Looks better than tubes and PVC and all. I just dont have big bucks to spend on minimal gains right now.

Only extra item you need is a hose for the breather. Get a bigger one than the one pictured. I had to hollow it out because it was too skinny for the actual intake tube.

It did feel a bit more responsive. I only drove for 10 minutes though. I'll repost tomorrow after a LNG drive. It does sound less restrictive for sure.

Wasn't it a little hard to connect to the engine intake?
The angle is a little off so I added a 3 in extension from the intake so it's no bent so much.

For a stock look, I ordered a GTO vacuum connection for $10.
I'll let you know if hooks up directly to the manifold.

it was. Later ill figure how to get a more natural bend. How did you extend yours?

Though the bend at the MAF is a little tight, it seems to work but only if using the stock filter box. I don't think you could get away with it using an after market cone type filter.
AIRAID makes a UBI (U-Build It) kit. You can either buy the 4" tube alone for less than $100 or the whole kit (couplers, clamps, filter, tube).
You just have to cut the tube as needed.

Tube only:

Any link to where this kit can be had?

it's pretty expensive, like $200. Go on ebay and search for "aluminum mandrel kit" it will pull up a kit similar to this with mandrel bent tubes, connectors, etc for like $60-80 then just buy a filter. I plan to do this...

Any link to where this kit can be had? Sorry bruh..I can't post links to unauthorized sponsors on this board. Just do a google search and click the shopping link. From there you can filter by price from lowest to highest. I found the cheapest (tube only) price at around $83.

I like the GTO tube. Especially as it has the flex zones. It seems the Yella tube is more stiff? I don't know if it s a problem for this car, but it seemed to be in the 3.8 V6's

I know this is an ancient thread, but I just bought a GTO intake tube from someone on a GTO forum. Anxious to get this installed!

I think I might still have that tube laying around in a box from when I had my GTO. I will have to check tonight. I don't need it because I have the Rotofab, but somebody else might.

I kinda like this mod! Gonna check my price on one tomorrow. Seems like it has to help somewhat? The stock airbox silencer is a joke!

$20 Camero tube, $10 spray on bed liner, $10 for fiberglass and hose. $10 for 4" silicone adapter for MAF. I already had the hose, fiberglass and adapter laying around.
