I got very tired of looking at the stock Volant cover. I took a piece of thick sheet metal, put it in my ALC sand blaster and made my own cover.

Nice job. I sorta like the standard one, but to each their own.

I installed my Volant today and I'm not a huge fan of the cover myself. If it didn't have their bright blue logo plastered across the top I might be alright with it. Simplier is usually better and less is some times more.

i noticed the rubber gasket on mine is squeezing out of the sides as well. i tried to loosen them up to not squeeze them too much

the pictures that were posted look like a custom-made cover, no? What if you cut a piece of clear plexi-glass and used it as a cover? that might look cool.

yea you'd probably have to clean the inside of the cover periodically. Or just use it as a spare when you go to shows or whatnot.

Looks good! This would be a good cover for people that pull CAI out whenever they get warranty work done. It looks almost stock and the GM performance badge is a nice touch also.

I am not saying that this cover is going to fool GM shops, but it could be overlooked.

I have a question regarding exhaust systems. i recently purchased a used gt g8 w/ 6k and the previous owner did some upgrades w/ the rims and tires and ASE stage 2 cold ait intake. i guess i am lucky for that anyways. i did some checking underneath the vehicle and i noticed that the mufflers say flowmaster is that standard on the g8 gt or again i am lucky that the previous owner did. because this car starts up with a very nice RUMBLE....please advise thanks
