I know I've seen people using a lot of vibration-dampening stuff in the trunk and while I plan to do this with some dynamat extreme, I am thinking of using some kind of MLV barrier like dynapad or Luxury liner from second skin.

Does anyone have any experience with this stuff? I understand the tech-side of the stuff and it makes sense, the reviews and spec sheets note that this stuff is supposed to significantly kill the 100hz stuff pretty well, that drone that we all know.

I'd like to get a grip on the drone before I start making my car a lot louder :-)

I wish you luck, I've given up and just deal with the noise.

Let us know how much it cuts out, I would be interested. A little droning doesn't bug me at all b/c I can't usually hear it anyways with the stereo on. If it could cut out some the drone, that would be worth it.

I'm planning on getting really geeky with it. I'll see if I can borrow a sound meter from work and take some before & afters. I'll take some readings at various speeds and also on hard accel. I have heard a lot of reports on a lot of guys running straight-thrus on other forums have good luck with putting the Luxury Liner (not the high end version just the regular luxury liner) between them and the end of the exhaust. Some truck guys have cut drone by as much as 75%. Sounds promising. I guess for us this would be doing the whole trunk floor and seat backs, possibly rear deck.

Will post results when done!
