: "Shifta" ..... G8 Style
DevilYellow 02-15-2007, 08:56 AM Well for the future G8 (M6) owners, at least we know there will be aftermarket shifters available. It looks like Holden still has shifter placement and cost (using a standard tail shaft housing) above having a good solid shifter on their priority list.
GMM is still in the works, a new shifter product (Billet Pro) looks like it will be announced soon.
Unfortunately for those who think the GMM is overpriced - this part looks very expensive! Almost like a pro5.0 for a 2005+ mustang.

Mothball 02-15-2007, 06:17 PM So by expensive you mean....?
DevilYellow 02-15-2007, 09:46 PM $495 aussie dollars.
Difftechnics 02-15-2007, 10:00 PM GMM :ftw: Don't worry bout the price it's worth it! :gears:
sccaGTO 02-16-2007, 08:37 PM GMM :ftw: Don't worry bout the price it's worth it! :gears:
It won't break off in someone's hand like the rare occasion it happens on the GTO? Makes me wonder if there will be an LSS down the road.
Mothball 02-17-2007, 11:47 AM 495 Aussie is ballpark $300 USD right? That might be a bit on the high side but for a product that works well I'd definitely pay it. I don't mind paying more for quality. I remember all too well the $50 Honda STS. P!O!S! If I can pay $35K for a great car I won't chintz on the goodies either.
DevilYellow 02-18-2007, 12:54 AM 495 Aussie is ballpark $300 USD right?
I like your conversion rate better .... approx $388 USD to $495 AUD
Mothball 02-18-2007, 01:50 AM Huh, really? I thought it was roughly 1USD=~1.50 Aussie bucks. I obviously didn't bother to look up the current exchange rate! :) Oh well, what's a few hundred either way when you're planning to drop $10K or so overall?
sccaGTO 02-18-2007, 10:29 AM The exchange rate is ~$1 AuD=$0.75 USD. The exchange rate fluctuates daily a few cents either way, but this is a ballpark estimate.
Hi Guys , There has been a few of these getting installed in VE Commodores over here in Australia . By what people are saying , these are, by all accounts, the ducks guts. People seem to be very happy with the results. The guys at billet products have this one all stitched up as nobody else has even attempted to make a quickshift for these cars yet.The quality bar has been raised yet again. Not sure how anyone can better this one.

Hi Guys,
These are some pics from the website of Billet Products. This is the new quickshift for the G8. This is from the LS1 forum in Australia:-
Hello to all forum members,
We have had many phone calls and emails from people that are a little confused over the type of shifter that is in the VE Commodores. These are not a getrag shift. They are also very different to the T56 shift used in the VT-VZ Commodores. The shift pictured here is the same to look at as the shift in VE`s except for the components added by us to improve its function and give the customer what they are looking for in a short throw quickshift.
This shift is a genuine Holden shifter body that has been extensively modified and Billet Products components added to it.The original shift boot that is designed to keep all road dirt out of the shift mechanism is retained. The shift throw has been shortened by approx 35%. Shift quality has been improved and positive stops added for those who wish to use them.We have tested these in road cars and race cars with extremly good results.
These are a direct bolt in replacement for the VE shift and there are no modifications required by the installer to fit it to your vehicle. The installer just unbolts the original shift and the Billet Products Quickshift installs back into the car the same way the original was removed.
We hope this clears up any confuson over the VE shift. If ther are any questions in regard to the VE quickshift, please dont hesitate to ask. We can be contacted by email, phone and thru the forum any time.
Kind Regards

Haven't you ever watched Mad Max?
I believe Goose says it to Max in the MFP garage when they first see the black Interceptor.
AWESOME MOVIE.
