Hey guys, we have developed a completely height and damper adjustable coil over suspension system for the G8 alread. It gives true track car handling and makes the G8 feel 1000lbs ligther than it really is -

Oh yeah, we also have complete Brembo brake conversion :ftw:

Nice eye candy!

Could you provide more details like make, spring rates, (factory spring rates too, if you have that info), shock type, adjustability, etc?

Thanks

I've said it once & I'll say it again. It's a good thing that the aftermarket has a head start with these cars.

Man, the aftermarket for these cars is going to be phenominal.

But what spring rates do you all use for the VE? what's the cornerweights coming in at normally?

Can you post the dyno charts for them?

Who's the shock/strut maker? (Bilstein/Koni/DMS/etc... using green, it looks like Tein)

What's the range of adjustability (and dyno chart for low vs high)?

Compression only? Rebound only? Both at the same time via single knob? Dual adjustment individually?

Spring rate?

Imp,
They are not Tein's from what I recall they are HSD coilovers, manufactured in Korea !! I've sent they guy who posted this thread a PM and even a few emails but get no reply, personally im more interested in the Brembo kit than the Coil overs as I think the Spring rates that they come with may be a little to high for the roads here in houston for a street car anyway, there is a Tein coilover kit avalible in Aus,

HSD's are what we use on our 240sx's. might be abit too heavy for your car's. check damper and spring rate to see if suitable. retrofitting coiliovers designed for other cars dosn't mean it will work

That's why I ask to see some dyno graphs... ;) I want to see their characteristics in the very least. If they're just some OTS re-fit from another car... then I fully agree.. jsut taking them, adjusting the perch and welding some new ears/tabs on them isn't the best bet. They need to be specifically valved not only for the weight of the car, but also take into consideration of the wheel rate, etc...

I want to know how much the Brembos are going to be and how much the slotted rotors are..

and how much of a drop you can do with those coilovers. How much are they going to run?

Where / How do you order? I have read all of the threads you pointed me too, but cannot find the coil-overs for sale or a purchasing method.

Thanks,

Mike

Thanks,
The JHP units appear to be made by TIEN. Nothing wrong with that but, I really like Martins units in the picture above. I beleive they are HSD coilovers. They also seem to have a large range of adjustment.

Ok your best bet is to go on ls1.com.au and search "VE HSD"

I've already read everything on the ls1.com.au site regarding the coils. Street Tuner (Martin) could just answer the question here and I would be happy. He may also make additional sales doing so. He has already sent me the price, he's just a little hard to get a hold of.

This coilover set is exactly what I'm looking for. Adjustable ride height (without affecting preload) and damping, and customer-selectable spring rate.

This looks like a great setup for a reasonable price.
