I had a pair of ten I took out of my 300 when I sold it. I haven't put the amp in yet, however, I did tap into the current amp. I disconnected the 8's that were in the back tray. The metal was rattling on some songs with a lot of bass. Obviously the current amp can't push the tens, but, it did eliminate the rattling in the tray area and sounds better then stock. I'm kinda down right now with my shoulder surgery and can't work inside the trunk to hook to hook up the amp. Its pretty easy to do, just use a t-tap and connect into the current wires that go to the 8's and once you have the connection, snip the wires from the tray speakers and you done.

or once you t-tap, you can run the high level speaker current into a Audio Control unit such as the EQX and/or a line level to RCA unit. I prefer the EQX because you can fine tune every frenquency. Also, this allows you to leave your factory system intact. You can adjust the gain on the factory amp to reduce the vibration on the back dash. This is what I plan to do, in about 4 months on my 09. It's the same setup I run on my DTS now.

I love the battery being located in the trunk.

Absolutely love the battery in the trunk, as well as the factory amp! We don't even need to get behind the dash!

My questions are about the amp wiring. Does anyone know which color wires go to which speakers from the stock amp? Also, since I plan to tap into the stock amp for signal and add a full-range aftermarket amp and speakers, are those stock outputs EQ'ed and crossed over from the head unit, or full-range? (obviously the output going to the two 8" woofers would be crossed over...)

I tapped into the 300 system the same way, picked up a signal for the amp, worked great. Just haven't gotten to that yet. I definetly is better the the ones in the back tray, even with the stock amp running them. I'll get to it soon. I'm still dealing with my shoulder after surgery and had a tuff time just tapping into the speakers to hook up the 10's. I'll get there.

Any way to post a diagram, with colors, for us under-experienced? Thanks.

:gr_jest: I would, but I don't have my car yet, waiting on my 09. I'd suggest talking to someone in the service department if no-one on here has the answer.
