Installation couldn't be simpler - locate your OBD port, plug the connector in, find a location to hide the single wire, install the gauge where you want it, and you're done!

NOTE: This guage works only in vehicles equipped with a CAN bus for the OBD/diagnostic system. This includes all 2008 and newer, most 2006 and newer, and many 2004 and newer vehicles. Don't most cars already have this? I know the G8 has average trip economy along with average speed. It also has instant mileage in engineering mode. For me I just know that the harder I press on the fun pedal, the less mileage I get. :)

Many cars do, but having a dedicated device that you can configure and watch more easily and closely is worth it for many customers. People also like the digital speedo function.

Kind of an oxymoron. Fuel economy gauge in a G8!! Maybe for the V6 but in my GT, I try not to focus on fuel economy.

You're missing the coolest thing about a modern musclecar like the G8. It has the technology to return great mileage when you want, but kick-ass performance when you want. That's what many people like about it. Nobody drives WOT from stoplight to stoplight and with the family in the car. For those times, this gauge comes in handy.
