As requested, I tried to get some detail shots of the hood scoops as well as the back seat area. Picture quality isn't as good as my first round since I was using my P&S camera instead of the DSLR.

Hood Scoops looked non-functional in the photos........or are my eyes shot?

From what I can see, about 50% of the "holes" look open while the others are blocked. There definitely appears to be some kind of deflector behind the scoops though. FWIW, the scoop on my Z06 is similar to this...

The scoops, althoiugh facing forward are probably for hot air expulsion, and not intake. Besides Pontiacs have always been known (at least in recent fws history) as bottom breathers. The most air for combustion is drawn in under the bumper. The center grill is for rad cooling.

Maybe the blockage is for protection from the rain/water. Hopefully, there will be some venting like on the GTO.

Hey man, I borrowed one of your pics and photochopped it into a coupe, hope you don't mind. Not the best job, but it's my first attempt at chopping a car this extensively. Basically I shortened the wheelbase/car about 6-8" and lengthened the front door by about the same amount.

I agree, it needs some modifications to look good as a coupe. I think the back of the roofline needs to start sloping sooner, sort of like the G6 coupe. But I wasn't about to try THAT in PS!
