I have owned my new '09 g8 gt for 1 week now. I bought it at Hubbard's Gm in Monticello, IN.
I have been wanting a "nice" car for about 4 years now. But since I never owned a car with a payment I was reluctant to strap myself down. I had been really looking at Dodge Magnum SRT8s, I really liked that car with it being a hotrod wagon. I was also looking at BMW M3s. I really liked the M3, but to get one in my price range I would have to buy atleast a 5 to 6 yr old car. When I heard that GM was offering the 0% for 72months last weekend, I just couldn't pass up the deal. The G8 strikes me more as a european sports sedan, which I love. I am pleased so far with the car, having a little over 600miles on the odo. Some things I noticed.
1. No bluetooth or usb ports. My sister has a ford fusion, and it has both.
2. Interior is nice, however the buttons feel cheap. Again my sister ford fusion trumps this car in that aspect.
3. The transmission logic is kinda goofy. Sometimes it doesn't seem to know what it wants to do.
4. 360hp is awesome
5. a 4000+lb car can get decent fuel economy. I actually love the afm mode enabling better fuel economy. The other day coming home from work on the interstate, I had the cruise at about 70 and reset the trip odometer. My mpg was 29-30.5 for the interstate portion of my drive. Not to bad.
I bought the extended 6yr 100k mile bumper to bumper warranty. So any moding will probably be axle back and maybe cai. This thing needs to make some noise.
It is the silver color (don't know actual color code) with sport and premium. Black and Red interior. Only thing I really wish it had is sunroof.
