how many of you know what happens at 127-128mph?

With the factory tune, ther are two different speed limiters. One is at 127 MPH, and the other is 137 MPH. See the bottom right corner of the attached screen shot image.

I started hearing chimes even though my over-speed settings in the DIC were turned off. I wasn't looking into the ****pit until I slowed down. Hmmm....

If that is true then the speedometer is way off. I hit 138mph today. Twice. Feels like a waterbed at that speed. I can have a buddy snap a pic tommorow if ya want.

It's not off the limiter depends on the tires you have ;)

I have the stock 18" wheels and tires. My car cuts out at 139.

You are sick! I've only done 122, I didn't hear anything. Must be the quiet cabin.

I just peaked over 130 ish...car and drive said limiter is 136mph...im going to have it removed though i dont plan on spending all that much time over it lol
i think after i get my tune and CAI and spray...the right tire /wheel combo ..( looking for light weight 19s or 20s' b) i will see what she will do

Hey I live in NNJ and go to NE PA to visit family in Larksville. What road did you test the speed limiter on? (I'd like a safe place to try it myself)

Mine won't do a hair over 137. And as quick as it get's there I feel pretty confident that the G8 GT's can easily hit 160mph. The car hits 137mph way too fast, then BAM, governor kicks in..

Rt 81 North of Clarks Summit early in the AM. ;)

i hit 131 mph on 4th gear on my v6 and i slowed down cuz i was coming unto an undercover cop and i was still around the 4 or 5's rpm.

Thats a feeling I don't want at that speed. I was in a Road Runner doing 140 in AZ, and it felt like it was gonna lift off the road.

Same here. When I first got my GTO, I took it to 140. A little too bouncy & floaty for my liking. :eek2: Some King springs solved that.
