: Radiator cover from JHP installed
I know some of you guys are probably going to remove everything from the engine compartment so this thread is not for you :D
I personally like the covers and I think that cover makes engine compartment look 20 times cleaner. Here are comparison pictures with and without.

appletonrc 04-09-2008, 09:59 PM Looks nice.
J Wikoff 04-09-2008, 10:02 PM JHP? How much?
JHP? How much?
price for the cover itself isn't that high at all, but the shipping is close to $100-120 if it is shipped by itself. Luckily I had it shipped with the other items so the other items covered the shipping.

WOW! Looks pretty good.
How much did you buy from them? They must be loving you. LOL
Monaro@JHP 04-09-2008, 10:15 PM If you guys can organize 10-15 pre-orders, we can get it dispatched through California which would reduce shipping by a lot.

I've been dealing with JHP for over two years. They should love me by now.
KaiserM715 04-09-2008, 10:22 PM That looks pretty good. I might have to consider one of those in a group buy.
Russo 04-09-2008, 10:42 PM it should come with that cover from the factory, lol... looks good!
Speedyone 04-09-2008, 11:38 PM I'd be in for a group buy.
TriShield 04-10-2008, 12:22 AM It's quite strange that a trim piece was left off for the US market.
need4spd 04-10-2008, 01:03 AM I'd be in for a group buy.count me in too

GM only ran the top radiator cover for the 7-12 months on the VE it was deemed an unnecessary item and was dropped :(
VENOM 04-10-2008, 07:25 AM That looks really nice, I like that. Be nice when they come out with engine covers that maybe look better
I would definitely take one of those...
Blackbirdws6 04-10-2008, 10:31 AM That actually looks really nice. I'm not big on covers but I really like this one. I guess this is how they made the price of the G8 GT right under 30k :). Interested in picking one up as well.

Zaphod B 04-10-2008, 10:34 AM That really cleans things up. Looks nice.
Cashed 04-10-2008, 11:15 AM Count me in for a group buy, too!
What is the price on the cover itself? I can't find it on the JHP site.
If the price is right, I'm in too.

You guys won’t find it on the website since the website is still being updated. JHP can sell ANY Holden parts, I believe the price is around ~$210 shipped if it is shipped individually (I don’t remember if that includes 5 clips or not) and from my experience, you’re looking at about $60 off on a group purchase.
Cashed 04-10-2008, 04:11 PM Come On Group...what Are Waiting For????
tjccpa 04-10-2008, 07:25 PM OK - Fills a hole under the hood. I'm interested. Hope someone is taking notes so we can put together a good order.
I would probably get this option. Your right it makes the engine so much more clean looking.
Not that i pop the hood all the time but knowing that my baby looks good all over is a pleaser.
+1 future buyer if under 100 bucks
It can never be under 100 by itself, the shipping too high (part is too big). Well if you are in Australia you can pick it up for under 100
$150 -160 is the best bet see post 21
J Wikoff 04-10-2008, 09:44 PM Seems like a lot for a piece of molded plastic.
Seems like a lot for a piece of molded plastic.
did you read post 4? just shipping $100-120
need4spd 04-10-2008, 10:09 PM Seems like a lot for a piece of molded plastic. It is, shipping is the killer for a part that large. Individually it has to come via air, in a group buy, it can ship via a consolidator and arrive to California (or anywhere , but JHP said Calif), and then ship ground from there saving cost due to consolidation with other freight and ground the rest of the way once it hits US soil.
J Wikoff 04-10-2008, 10:19 PM did you read post 4? just shipping $100-120
Of course I did. Produced and shipped from this continent, it should cost maybe $50.
need4spd 04-10-2008, 10:45 PM Problem is that our car is not, nor are the parts that support it.....actually if that part was made here, it would cost about $5, and $10 to ship.
If made in china (probably is), maybe about $1, trust me I know the cost of items made in China.
Value of that part to GM is about $3, $1 to make it, 1 to ship, duties and taxes, inventory cost, etc. so $3 x 30k cars, = bean counter's salary, that had to justify his/her job by removing this part from the VE/G8 (ok, with the VE in the mix, maybe it is double their salary, so they get to keep their job for a year), it is all economy of scale.
Of course I did. Produced and shipped from this continent, it should cost maybe $50.
You might be living on a different planet.:D Because I just checked several GM cars and the radiator cover for them is listed between $80 to $200.
And by now you should realize that it would be shipped from another continent. And if you can find a shipping company that will that will ship the box in dimensions of 54x12x4 inches for less than $200 from Australia, I would like to know the name of that company. UPS and FedEx both show over $280 for that box.
VE ST 04-10-2008, 10:53 PM Of course I did. Produced and shipped from this continent, it should cost maybe $50.
That is just it, it is not produced or shipped from this continent. It is produced and shipped from Australia (That is, another continent.).
Regards,
VE ST.

Rue_G8GT 04-11-2008, 06:16 AM it should come with that cover from the factory, lol... looks good!
I agree.
I'll probably remove the engine shroud, but I agree with you, the radiator cover looks good.
lilbit 04-11-2008, 02:10 PM def. think it looks a lot better with the cover on it
J Wikoff 04-11-2008, 08:51 PM Anyone else want to point out it's not made here? I caught that when I assumed JHP sent it way back in the first few posts. If GM sold it here, it'd cost about $50.
Sure, it cleans up the engine bay... but it's not $200 cleaner. It's not worth the shipping.
granatelli 04-18-2008, 08:56 AM I would consider buying one too in the group purchase. I am going to look at the JHP website right now. AG
HSV GTS 04-19-2008, 05:44 AM What is the price on the cover itself? I can't find it on the JHP site.
The genuine GM VE (G8) radiator cover & clips are $180 delivered, JHP now have stock at our California warehouse, get your orders in while we still have stock.
