: Where is the cabin air (pollen) filter located?
TomPierce 04-11-2008, 04:42 PM In Atlanta during pollen season, you can watch the pollen drift across the parking lot like sand in Saudi Arabia.
It's insane how bad it is here - so where is this filter so I can change it?
Thanks,
dodson914 04-11-2008, 05:11 PM I believe it is on the passenger side underneath the glovebox. Now how you remove it I haven't a clue.
SRG963 04-11-2008, 05:46 PM I was wondering if there was a filter. Great, I have to deal with the pollen also.
dodson914 04-11-2008, 05:48 PM There is a filter. I saw it in the manual as part of the maintenance schedules. I just can't seem to find in the manual where it shows how to change it. LOL

Me, too either. And it sux not having the Service Manuals.
asylum 04-12-2008, 02:33 AM its in the black airbox in the engine bay, opposite side of the wiper motor.
no idea how long its meant to last, but would be an absolute pain to change
SRG963 04-12-2008, 08:04 AM Yeah, it's usually under the hood, close to the windshield. The one on my Caddy is square, but it's bent in 1/3 when placed into the box, so be careful when changing.

I check the Helm website for manuals. Nothing available yet - I'm on their email notification for when they become available.
Price - $135

That's the Engine Air Filter. I believe he is talking about the the Passenger Compartment Air Filter Element (cabin air filter). It's listed as part # 92184248. At least that's what I was talking about when I posted earlier.
TomPierce 04-12-2008, 08:45 AM Hooray !
Dodson914 posts the first actual useful PART NUMBER on the thread.
I hereby nominate Dodson914 as the "Official Keeper Of The Part Number List"
Second?
How did you get that number BTW?
Tom

no, the engine air filter is at the front of the engine bay, i'm talking about the windscreen plenum, the larger side (passenger) has the "intake" for the ventilation system.
the G8 is fitted with a pollen filter, but access would require removing at least the smaller section of the plenum (thats held in with about 6 black scrivets at the front) but the rear clips will almost definitely break during removal, they pretty tight!.
based on that i'd say the pollen filter would have to have a reasonably long life
