This is my temporary intake system. I'm waiting for my 90 degree bend from spectre performance then I can finish my polished intake. I wanted to try something so I pulled one of my filters and made a bracket and added the filter to the end of the maf. It definetly pulls harder and sounds awsome. Can't wait till I get all my parts. I'll post when I get finished. I'll leave the bottom part of the box in until I get it all figured out.

This is one of my many filters, I won't use that one when I finish the kit. Once I get the 90 degree polished tubing from spectre I'll have to modify whats there now. I'll use an 8" cone. The tubing will be tucked in closed to the engine and I'll use a couple of other angles and turn the filter down in behind the headlights. That is one of two filters I have for my truck setup when I put the 6.0 in my 95 short bed. Those filters are about $30.00 my cost, the 8" are about $20.00. Its gonna look simular to New era's. It will all be polished and I'll enclose it in the corner so it will always get cooler air. I hope to have it done in the next two weeks and you can buy the kit from spectre performance. I'm going to do all the mock up. I've used their stuff for a couple of years, very good quality and reasonably priced. I took out the original box this morning and I have a new pic to post. I plan of enclosing the maf with polished tubing, it will look much better. Not sure of the total cost, it will be less then new era.

How is his set up making the car run rich and rotofab makes it lean out? No argument just wondering?
What do you guys think of apexi filters? In some comparison test on the Honda forums they seemed to flow very well and yet still filter well also. Not sure if they make a filter big enough for our application though.
I think I'll end up with rotofab so that I will have a better idea what my afr will be. Still I would rather go with a dry flow. That way I wouldn't have to worry about cleaning the maf sensor so often.
Not a fan of intakes sucking hot air from the engine bay.
Show me an enclosed box modded to be a true CAI.

Why does everyone say that the Roto-fab leans the car out???? The Developers went rich as did mine. I went from 11:1 to 10:1. I would say pig rich.

I think the reason was because of the posts about the ecm tune vs the ecm with the roto fab intake. In one of the posts they stated that the intake alone leaned the car out by one full point. That is why the intake made such huge gains 30hp I think it was and the tune added another 10hp. While the tune alone makes a big jump in power alone adding the two together didn't equate to the sum of the two separate of each other. I think they had dyno charts showing this.

Here is the posted statement I was thinking of, it was only 1/2 a point. This is Kirk from Vector answering a question from another member.
So 41hp over stock w/ the tune and intake correct? If you have a tune only, its 30hp over stock right? 20hp for the intake on a stock motor but its not as much with a tune, why is that?
That is because the Roto-Fab intake already leaned the car out 1/2 of a point.
The main gain in HP comes from leaning this car out.

Yep I remember that post. Funny on some cars it leaned it out and others it fattened it up.

It will go rich because it draws air from under the hood. No hp to be made with these things. But people sure do buy them up.
Of course on a dyno with a 3' fan blowing on it you could see something.
Anyone ever try the leaf blower at the dyno?

Mine doesn't.
