My wife ordered the PC car polish kit this month for my bday; it arrived and everything looked in order, except for the PC counterweight. Following Jason's instructions on his YouTube videos would require me to use a 5" counterweight on the PC. The unit shipped with the rest of the Adams kit and it included only a 6" counterweight, already installed on the unit. He specifically mentioned not using the 6" counterweight.
I decided that since the PC came with the kit that the 6" must be the new standard and went ahead and used it. I had a tough time getting the head to actually rotate much, unless I used practically no pressure on it while operating. Have I gone wrong somehow? The car is pretty new and I used very little Machine Polish and detail spray because there weren't really too many scratches in the finish.
I am in Texas and I began at about 9 AM, finishing the wash and clay and second wash at about 11 AM, the polishing took about 3 hours. The temperature in my garage was about 100 degrees at 2 PM and there is no practical way to get the car any cooler than that, at least during daylight hours when I can see the car best. The polish was difficult to get off the car, even with a very small amount applied and using the Adams MF towels, rotated every panel. Is this due to the heat or simply a function of the product? To clarify, the vast majority of the product came off in the first couple passes but I am being very particular about not leaving any dull spots or streaks, and they were far more difficult to remove.
Thanks for any advice you guys can provide.
