Anyone in SC with a G8 yet? I am in Aiken, waiting to tag an 09!

I am on Hilton Head Island. Got Red GT #287 from Backus Cadillac-Pontiac in Savannah on March 18. Only G8 they were receiving in March. Local dealer still has none, as far as I can tell. Really nice car. Only one on the Island so far, probably only one outside of Charleston or Columbia.

I just missed seeing your car, was there shortly after you got it - looking for a two tone red/ebony interior. Seemed like a nice dealership. Buying mine in GA also, Masters Pontiac from Darrell French. Nice salesman, very pleased so far, tagging the first 09 for me!

Two in Greenville SC 1 Red 888 sold and my black non 888 gt. I also saw on a tv a white GT at a poniac in Easley SC Those towns are in upstate SC if you are not aware.

Also Sitton Pontiac in Greenville is getting a Gray 888 GT with red int.

I thought all of the 888s had been delivered. Man I want to see this color combo bad. Hoping that the Atlanta car show this Saturday has the colors I want to see, especially the interior. Thanks.

Thanks, bet the show will have at least one. Love the black, almost thought about it, though the washing and keeping clean seems to be so much harder than any other color out there. Love the way the clean black G8 GT looks though!

Purchased the Ignition Orange GT here in Summerville end of March. Loving it so far. Windows need tinting. There was a white GT, but was sold and I have seen it once on the roadway. During the test drive, I was just about to tell my wife to stomp on it, since I already did coming over to the house, but luckily we saw the SPD monitoring the speeds, and they were smiling as we drove by. I am seeing a lot of cops look and just smile. Just knowing how much power I have under the hood is freaking cool....

What did you think of the sales/service at McElveen? My dad bought a GMC from them years ago, but I'm curious as to your experience with the Pontiac staff...

I've bought 2 GTOs from McElveen.
Used Steve Howard the internet manager both times.
Would definitely use him again.

Never used McElveen for service. The GTOs are serviced at Sentry because they are less than 2 miles from my house.

Didn't trade. I doubt that the trade in would be that great.
They sell 250 cars a month there. Tons of volume.

master has 4 right now

Got my GT on March 18. Today, July 13, I saw my first one on the road, a black GT on the north end of Hilton Head Island, Black, looked nice. Been in six states since purchase, and have not seen another real one except in dealer lots.

I have a Black 08 GT. I live in Summerville, SC. Picked mine up on April 4th from Sentry Buick Pontiac on Savannah HWY in Charleston. I Cruise around a bit. I somtimes hang out around the Beaufort, Bluffton and Hilton Head areas.

also, i see another black g8 gt on rivers ave in north charleston almost every couple of days. it has the sport package.

I saw a black one on i-26 heading west coming from the on ramp off of aviation. Could not see driver, was in far left lane trying to get to ashley fustrate...Where bouts in Summerville? I am down from the hs football field and catholic school.

Knightsville. i travel I-26 everyday. usually get on I-26 WB at aviation. but i don't normally get off at ashley phosphate. there is another black g8 gt that i see all the time on rivers ave in that area.

There is a white one around as well. It is one of the numbered 888 ones. Saw it at Mcelveen, but told it was already bought. Wanted to see the orange anyway. A few weeks later the orange came in, saw it, drove it, and now it is at home. Still looking to tint windows, though. Not sure about who will do the best, had GW do last vehicle, but was looking for someone new. If the photo is yours, who tinted your windows and are ya happy with it?

i had GW do it, did an awesome job. cost me 165. they oogled over the car for a bit but didnt take too long.

i had my 2004 grand prix tinited over on savannah hwy. the guy did such a bad job. he must of had bubbles in every window. i gave it a week to see if they would go away. they offerd to take the tint off and redo it, i told them i wanted my money back and to take the tint off. went over to gw. he had to really clean the old tint residue off the windows but did a great job. i know a bunch of people that went to gw and there tint is great.

I had a '02 Grand Prix GTP, but never tinted the windows. The vehicle GW did for me was a Ford Freestyle, one of those crossover SUVs. I thought it was a good job, but never know if others are worse, same or better. If I can skate out early today, I'll see if he can do it today. Saturdays, looks like he is packed all the time. Yesterday, I saw a Red G8 coming from Hwy 78 onto Ladson Rd. So now there are at least 4 in the area, and maybe 3 in the Summerville area.

best times to catch him are early in the morning or mon-thurs around 1-3. i was able to get mine done on a tuesday after i got off work at 3.

Was able to get it done today. Looks a great deal different from before. I guess I have to post some pics. I just noticed on yours that you don't have a front tag bracket. Mine came with one and not happy. Why does a state, that does not require front tags, have cars delivered with the bracket already installed? The Jeep for work had it in a bag in the back. I found a smirking smiley face, not the same orange, but it will do for now, till something else catches my eye.

thats sucks that about the tag bracket. mine was in the trunk in a plastic bag.

Dealer swapped cars with another dealer in a different state, possibly one that requires a front plate?

Yup. Seems like the bracket could have been mounted a different way, than punching holes through the bumper. Oh well.

I got mine at Backus Cadillac-Pontiac in Savannah. Sales Manager made it a point to tell me that he did not put the bracked on because SC does not require a front plate, nor does GA. Said he didn't think I would like him to be drilling holes in my car that were not necessary. Really good experience with those folks.

Well, I guess it is to the dealer to order touch up, and I hope I can do a decent enough job on it. I even hate to say, but I was at work, and was not the one driving.....Me, I would have jumped on it and passed the SOB, but noooo. Made a rough day even worse when I opened the garage door a saw a bright gleam coming back as the sun hit it.

damn, i sorry to hear that man. i too have some small chips from I-26. i have to go to the dealer today. i had my tires rotated a couple weeks ago and ever since then its been pulling to the right. ive been the the dealer almost every week about this. im going to leave the car with them until they fix it.

Did you get your pulling squared away? I been putting patio furniture and grill in the garage along with the G8, for this storm hitting tonight. Don't believe it will be extremely bad, but bad enough to blow things around in the back yard.

well kinda. got the dealer to do an alignment. but its pulling the other way now. im just going to deal with it until it gets worse. i don't feel like going through all that bs again. then i will take it to an independent shop to have it aligned.

My problem - I'm a Vikings fan. Bad news both weeks so far.

Was down in Hilton Head yesterday, but I was in the company's jeep. I kept an eye out for ya, but did not see any G8s to and from there, and even went through Bluffton and Beaufort. Maybe next time, since that is part of my region to maintain.

i think ive seen him before. i was turning onto ladson rd from linconville rd and he was turning off ladson to linconville. theres a white one i think its a gt ive seen come down butternut rd. i belive that one belongs to the wife of someone i work with.

The only white one I had seen was the one McElveen initially had, and it was one of the 888 ones. I believe I had seen it on Ash Phos a while ago and a lady was the driver, but I don't believe they are here on this board.

I'm in Columbia. I got mine almost a month ago. Panther Black 09 G8GT. I know of a Pacific Slate G8 in Columbia too. You guys have any mods for yours? I've ordered an OTR CAI, but due to snow in NY, it hasn't even shipped yet. I ORDERED IT 10 DAYS AGO! Dang. I will eventually do headers too, but that is a long ways away.

I have been playing with my exhaust, I have removed every resenator/muffler and running straight pipe till the end which goes through dual Thrush turbo muflers....not real loud, but I just wanted a little rummble.......no drone to speak of......

I also ordered some mandrel bent pipe off the internet, and when i get back home I will start working on a CAI....
I don't like buying premade stuff, half the fun is figuring things out on my own, as I am no mechanic.

I am thinking about removing the first resonator and the bullet type. You said you've had no odd sounds. I've heard that some people have messed around with the resonators and gotten some weird sounds, nothing desriable. You think its worth taking off the front and bullet? Does the straight pipe make it raspy? I've heard the x-pipe is the way to go.

Just got mine Saturday from Sitton in Greenville - thought I'd hit all the SC threads to get acquainted. Hope to see some of you folks around!!
