The Camaro was designed by a mostly Australian design team I think headed by Mike Simcoe who designed the Monaro.

Well Simcoe is the global head of platform development and works in Detroit. He is a very nice fellow.

They'll sell a few Camaros Corvettes, and H3s in Australia a year - but probably a boat load or two total all together.

What I find very interesting is Simcoe speaking about the Camaro separately from the Monaro. An old HK Monaro does have some similarities to a Camaro. I had always thought that they would be tightly connected. But this is good that he separates them. If there is a stand alone Monaro there is a much better chance for a GTO.
