: Vector Motorsports announces its new FlashXpress system!
VectorMotorsports 04-14-2008, 12:28 PM For Immediate Release
Vector Motorsports new FlashXpress system
Looking for the easiest way to get your vehicle Vector tuned? Look no further as Vector Motorsports new FlashXpress system is the most advanced remote programming system currently available and supports nearly every 2005+ GM ECM and TCM including the elusive six-speed automatic in both FWD and RWD configurations. The system supports nearly all 05+ GM vehicles and is also expandable to cover future model years and applications.
How does it work? It’s actually very simple, you pay a refundable deposit of $750 ($700 is refundable the rest covers shipping upgrades to and from us) plus the regular cost of the tune and we ship you a programming interface and a USB memory key with our reader/writer software on it. You load the software, read out your calibrations, email us your files, we tune them, email them back and then you simply load them into your vehicle after that you use the prepaid UPS label to send us the hardware back and we credit your CC $700. It really is that simple! Also included in the software is a scan tool program to help us fine tune your calibration if necessary.
System requirements:
PC with windows 98 or later (XP/Vista Preferred)
256MB or more of RAM
USB 1.0/2.0 Port
Internet connectiviy
Supported ECM/TCM
E40 ECM
E67 ECM
E38 ECM
E37 ECM
T42 TCM – 4 Speed Auto
T43 TCM – 6 Speed Auto RWD/FWD
This will be added as an ordering option on most tunes in the coming week. :)
dodson914 04-14-2008, 12:40 PM So what does this mean for those of us that have already purchased a tuned ECM from you?
VectorMotorsports 04-14-2008, 01:00 PM As far as the ECM goes nothing, the new ECM outright "FIRSTG8" special we have going is still by far the best deal and allows you to swap at any time. This will however allow us to send you one of these setups to flash your TCM :)
So, if i have this straight, for the FirstG8 guys, We pay $750 and you ship us what we need to do the TCM tune. The TCM tune was included in the FirstG8 ECM tune if i recall. Once we load the program in the TCM, we return the hardware you sent us and you refund $700 of $750 and the shipping both ways is paid for by the $50 you do not refund.
Right?
In general, the stuff you send would let us scan and send you files that you could then tune and send us a new file to load. For things that are minor and not included in our original ECM tune fee, there would a tuning charge.
VectorMotorsports 04-14-2008, 03:35 PM Yes this allows you to get the TCM tune (which we'll give the FIRSTG8 guys and gals for free) You just pay shipping each way for the interface (2nd day air.)
dodson914 04-14-2008, 03:39 PM Yes this allows you to get the TCM tune (which we'll give the FIRSTG8 guys and gals for free) You just pay shipping each way for the interface (2nd day air.)
How do we need to contact you regarding the TCM tune?

And the free tune tweaks for exhaust, CAI, etc could be done by the FlashExpress method or by returning the ECM to you if we just pay round-trip shipping for either method, right?
Thanks,
Ed
Stingpac 04-16-2008, 09:27 AM I understand the costs of the shipping ... but how much is the cost of the ECM & TCM tune ?

Same price as usual $349, or $499 with a brand new ECM thats yours to keep (which is barely over the cost of a new ECM not including stock programming from a dealer.)
hotshot2003 04-23-2008, 04:38 PM So 499 includes a new ECM, the ECM tune and the TCM tune, but to do this I will have to put down the 750$ deposit and then after all equipment is returned receive 700$ back off of that?
Also, if we do this, then add exhaust or intake later what will be the additional charge if any to recalibrate for the new modifications? Thanks.

Correct. Small changes such as CAI/Exhaust ect are free. If you get crazy into camshafts/blowers ect there will be a retune fee but not the entire cost of the tune more like $250. Nearly EVERY mod that will be available for these cars will fall under the free retune policy.

Sorry, I just want to clarify this further...
$499 (New ECM, ECM tune, TCM tune)
$750.00 deposit
$1,249.00
-$700.00 refund
$549.00 total cost to us

cantw84g8 04-23-2008, 07:25 PM does the new ecm require crank relearn or do you send out a factory ECM and then we program our existing ECM?

Any ECM that hasnt been in your vehicle yet must have a Crank Relearn done. We can send you a new ECM factory programmed if you'd like then you can program your stock one. It's up to you really.
Also those of you ordering this system choose the ground shipping option, as explained above the $50 is used to cover shipping the shipping UPGRADE to 2nd day air each way.
FYI: The FlashXpress system is on the website and for sale! Add the unit rental with your Tune purchase and you are good to go!
Order placed! Thanks Man! I'm looking forward to it!
VectorMotorsports 04-24-2008, 10:21 AM Order placed! Thanks Man! I'm looking forward to it!
You need to resubmit your order, you put too much info in the memo section and it overflowed the order system. Please reorder without a lot of text in the memo thanks!
hrm... it went through ok... showed less than the 200 char allowed.
I'll redo it... just so long as I don't get billed twice!
hotshot2003 04-24-2008, 04:12 PM Can you retune it and still allow the use of 87 octane? Also, if we were to do the 91 octane upgrade, what kind of MPG can we expect with the ECM and TCM tunes? Thanks.
VectorMotorsports 04-24-2008, 04:29 PM If you wanted us to yes, but you wouldnt really see any benefits with 87 that we see with 91/93. MPG with 91 should be very close to that of 93.
JAWDRPNG8 04-25-2008, 01:52 PM Hey there guys/gals...can I request to thouse who ordered the tune for the ECM / TCM tune what your results where??? Has anyone completed the download yet?
It would be great to see a customers before and after dyno results or just best description in detail of what your thoughts are....
Thanks in advance

Hi VMS,
I ordered the new ECM and the DashHawk2 and it is on the way now with a scheduled delivery date of 4/30/08 via UPS. Will this allow me to do the TCM tune along with the new ECM? 1Z25X99V0348807572

There have been quite a few threads of those of us that have done both the ECM swap and the TCM tune.
Everyone seems very positive about both. The TCM is absolutely amazing. You really need to be in one that has it to be able to understand it. Words don't do it justice.

Vector Motorsports: I get my tax rebate cash early this coming week. I will call to set up an appointment. (Probably for Sat. May 3rd if available).
But I was wondering if you guys will have a CAI kit for sale to go along with the 93 octane ECM Tune / TCM tune?
In one of the video clips, I saw you guys fabricated a "Ghetto CAI" for one of the final runs on "drob8's" black G8 GT. I thought of doing a CAI at the same time I got the tune would be a good thing to do?
Any info. on the availability & cost of a Vector Motorsports CAI?

Cashed 04-28-2008, 04:10 PM If some of the member's here have the Vector TCM tune, take the car to the dealer for service and the perform the current GM service bulletin TCM re-flash, what will need to be done to have the Vector TCM tune re-flashed to the TCM? Will additional charges apply yet again?

VectorMotorsports 04-28-2008, 05:17 PM The TSB is actually a typo, there is no new TCM calibration, there is a new ECM calibration which those of you who got the FIRSTG8 new ECM to keep already have :)
