Does anybody have access to and be willing to share any other wiring digrams from both a 2008 G8 GT and Commodore SS?

Attached is what I have so far.

#1-3 should be the same, but it's all outputs, no imputs.
#4 is for regular radio, not the LCD screen one
#5 is specific to onstar but the connector may be used for bluetooth in the commodore

I know I just plugged the bluetooth from Commodore in the car. I was able to synchronize it and talk from it but I can't hear anything back and the buttons on the steering wheel still work for onstar :(

Onstar on the steering wheel is going to be an issue with retro-ing Bluetooth to our 08 G8s I am afraid. So, I am left to wait until someone takes delivery of an 09 (if they even have Bluetooth) and are willing to tear into it to show how it is wired...or MAYBE someone can come across a wiring diagram???:gr_devil:

Thanks, Dede. Are these for the US car or the OZ car? If is it US, then I assume that in photo 3, the connector for the phone is for OnStar?

does this get us any closer to figuring out what the "rear aux" is??

I haven't had time to pull the dash apart but nothing on the diagrams I posted or the connectors dede posted says anything explicitly about "Auxiliary" input, output, or otherwise.

The Pontiac database is not showing pinout information for unused connectors. When I did load pins for the video, I had onscreen distortion and a contrast message showed up. So it maybe working after all (in park).:wall:

But I definitely still wouldn’t use Commodore programming for G8

What did you use as the source?

keep working on it dede, be sure to keep us all posted. my installer is very curious about the aux now and is doing research of his own with some of his suppliers..

Maybe not. The biggest problem will be retroing Onstar 8.0 (where Bluetooth will be contained for the vast majority of 2009 GM vehicles) into the vehicle. If this can be accomplished, then the steering wheel buttons should be fine. Based on CTS Bluetooth/Onstar operation, you would use the steering wheel buttons to activate the onboard Onstar module, then select "Handsfree" by voice for Bluetooth.

You can forget about retrofitting Onstar from one year to another. It will not be done. Onstar is like a cluster - you can only get the exact same model or no one will program it for you.
for the same reason you cannot add onstar to the car unless it's been built in from the factory.

Also, retrofitting the Bluetooth is not that complicated.

So what i'm working on right now is making a box which allows to use mute signal from onstar or bluetooth and connect it to the single mute input on the radio. Same goes for speaker input from onstar and bluetooth and connecting it to the single input on the radio.

Just to keep everything in one place, here is a diagram forthe factory amp connectors, originally posted by jawilsn:

I don't know if any one else has noticed the main connector to the radio is the same as the one from a 2001-2005 3 Series BMW. I'm just ordered a Parrot Bluetooth kit for my G8 along with the BMW 3 Series ISO adapter for the Parrot. It looks like the pin outs are slightly different, but I can move the pins around to make it work easily.. I might need to tap into the telephone mute so the radio completely mutes when the bluetooth is in use. I'll see when it all comes in.

DeDe, Im sure you remember the GTO having the phone input harness on the back of the GTO radio. Has anyone here looked for something similar on the G8? Where at physically does the bluetooth unit plug into on the VE, compared to available plugs on our radio?
Where did you plug your comodore unit into physically?
I would bet that the speaker out from the BT unit has to be tapped into the Onstar line input as well as the mute signal. i would be willing to completely rewire the steering wheel buttons from the Onstar to the BT since I will not use OS, and if I do it would be via the Mirror buttons.
I would think that by finding the pins from the buttons on the wheel and re-wiring those to BT would work, but then they will not work for OS.
