On the BBC America (directv) they have a show called Top Gear. It is a pretty cool automobile variety show. Anyway today they test drove a Vauxhall VXR8. It is the same car as the G8, made by Holden and has a 6.0 liter V8 but they don't call it an LS3. This car has 412hp and 6 speed manual. I believe it is very close to the GXP, the seats look just like those in the GXP that was shown in New York. The car kicked some serious butt. It out ran the M5 in the quarter mile and the reviewer had great things to say about it. I don't think this car had Brembos so perhaps that is a US only option. Take a look at the show if you get a chance I think you will enjoy it.

Forgot to mention the Vauxhall had a nice cluster of white faced gauges in the spot of the cheezy digital gauges in the center of the dash.

it was the LS2 in the VXR8, and it raced "price comparable" bimmer, merc, and audi, so not the M5...

and yes, the OP is talking about the same episode as the other threads...

btw, you can watch the show online for free... i, and prob others on here, saw season 10 when it was being aired in England in the winter of 2007... do a quick google search and you will find it...

They are not as fast as you think they are. i beat one in my cam only ls1 firebird.

anything 100+ you would prob lose... they are built for high speed acceleration... they are not 0-60 cars, because they have no torque...

ACTUALLY....the BMW was a 3.0 liter V6, hence "530i". They were comparing cars in the same price range.

Also, the VXR8 has the 6.0 LS2 while the GXP will have the 6.2 LS3.

:mswerd: They are +139hp but -2lb-ft as compared to a GT, though I don't know whether or not 8 3/4L cylinders have a flatter curve than 10 1/2L cylinders.
