: Feeler for my GXP

NOT FOR SALE! YIPPEE. Looks like personal circumstances may force me to part with my GXP. It's got 500 miles on it and is better than new. I'm a bit of a freak when it comes to my car's appearance. I've spent about 10 hours with my PC, buffing the swirls and imperfections out of the paint. She almost glows in the dark. There is not a blemish, ding, mark or scuff anywhere on or in this car. It's been professionally tinted as you can see. I've installed the shift eliminator and a billet oil cap. It's been partially debadged as well as I removed all of the GM tags and everything off the back except the pontiac symbol. I have all of them and they're still perfect if you want to re-install. I also have a new vararam waiting to be installed. I get constant looks and comments on this car. It has never even seen a drop of rain (live in vegas). I need $39,750. While it's officially used, you won't have to pay sales taxes (most everywhere) so that saves you thousands. So compared to what a new one will cost you in total (if you can find one), this is a pretty good deal. I'm in Vegas, so fly in, win some money and drive one bad ass car home. Note: I should know in a few days as to whether I have to sell. I'll start with anyone I get "seriously interested" notes from and give you a day to make a deposit. Sorry about the small photos. I can email several high res ones if needed.

If you can find one for $37k with a stick and a roof...buy it. Far as I know, IF you can find one at all they're going for MSRP. $41K+. I think there's $3.5K back from GM. Then you have to pay sales taxes and the rest of the dealer BS. For me that was a bit over $4k. With mine, you don't pay sales tax and will less than 1000 miles, might as well be new. My price is what I need but seems like a good deal as well.

I believe you still pay sales tax on a private party sale when you go to register the vehicle.

Not in Nevada, Ohio, Missouri or other states I've lived in, but obviouslt your DMV can tell you.

NJ pays sales tax of 7% so no savings for me. However, if you're in a bind, i'll take the car we will transfer your car payments over to me. This way we both win. If Interested PM me.

In Michigan, you will have to pay 6% sales tax on the purchase when you register the vehicle, plus title fee and registration, and have proof on insurance. That would add up to about $2600...however, you WILL avoid the gas guzzler tax, which I think is about $3K for this car.... still a deal compared to new out the door pricing. Unless, you can get a dealer to deal....

You do in Ohio, the seller is required to put the sale price on the title and the buyer pays the sales tax when they put the car in their name.

unless there is a 'gift' bill of sale... strictly for eliminating sales tax.
That works in Cali at least.

Nope..Not Alabama...maybe correct in your city, but not the state. AL state auto tax is 2%...

I live in madison county, auto tax for me is 2.75%.
In huntsville it is 4%

MUNICIPAL CODE

1 MADISON COUNTY pop 276,700 2.75% 0.0335

2 HUNTSVILLE CITY pop 158,216 4.00% 0.0580

3 TRIANA CITY pop 458 4.75% 0.0495

7 GURLEY CITY pop 876 4.25% 0.0405

I have lived in 6 states, and all of them would charge sales tax in this case. Madison County, AL is the lowest tax rate for autos that I have lived. SD is 3%

Yes there was when bought off the lot for the GXP.

Good luck with the sale, they are disappearing like no other from dealer lots so you should not have an issue.

Issues are resolved (job staying here) so the car will not be for sale. To the guys that were waiting, thanks for your patience and good look with the search. Gonna miss this incredibly stimulating tax discussion...

I live in Madison Co also. got to love 2.75%. I bought my car in Memphis, they have 8% there and couldn't believe my tax was so low.

I've seen quite a few G8's around town, but no SBM's yet. I'm keeping my eyes out though.

P.S. to the OP, glad you get to keep your car.
