Me and my parents are going to my local pontiac dealer friday to look at a pontiac G8 GT they have in stock. It's Panther Black with the black leather interior, premium package, sport package and sunroof. It's basically a fully loaded Black G8 GT and window sticker price is $32,725. Did anyone buy a car around this price? If so, how low do you think I will be able to get the salesman? My parents are gonna have them hold the car for me if they get around a price my parents like which is in the 29 to 28,000 range. Is this possible to get them this low?

Invoice for that package is in the neighborhood of $30,800. Even accounting for holdback, 29k would have them selling the car at a loss.

Aside from employee or supplier pricing, the best deal I've seen posted here was someone getting one about $500 above invoice. Most are selling at or very close to sticker for the time being

yeah, most dealers are not going below MSRP, in fact some still are adding markup. If you can get the MSRP and have the GM loyalty rebate, it will be a decent deal.

Im 18 years old. I saved up about half the money for the car and my parents said they would put in the other half. No monthly payments just one nice big check and then it's just gas and insurance from there. Thats a problem with them being stiff with the MSRP. My parents usually never pay sticker price. They always get good deals with cars somehow. My mom bought a Lincoln MKZ which sticker price was a little over $35,000 and she got it for exactly $30,000 after tax.

Cool! That's really good to save up half of the money at your age......hehe, I wish I could have done that.

My wife was zooming in on the Lincoln MKZ as well, boy I'm happy I was able to steer her to the G8. :)

Bought the exact same car today! MSRP 32745.00, got it for 31517.45 (supplier price) - 1,000.00 loyalty. Had to drive 260 miles to get that deal and talked to about 8 dealers within 300 mile radius and only two would budge the one that I did not get wanted 100 over invoice but it did not have the options it was a base GT. The dealer had a grey 888 there too that I am sure will do the same deal on!
