My dealer called me this morning and said that I had a recall on the G8. It's nothing great big. I think that he said the recall is on the seat belt chime and light. Thought that you would like to know so you can check with your dealer. I am taking mine in tomorrow to get fixed.

I will look into that. my seatbelt chime works...though it is annoying...maybe that is what they are fixing! :)

Not a Recall, just a Service Update.
The dealerships have a procedure to reprogram the inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) for certain 2008 model year Pontiac G8 vehicles. On some of these vehicles, the passenger safety belt reminder chime and light may activate when the passenger seat is unoccupied and the interior temperature of the vehicle is below 32°F or above 104°F.
Can be handled on it's own, or wait until at the dealership for other service.
A call to the dealership service department with an owner's VIN, would allow them to check and see if the procedure needs to be done on a specific car.

That seems like a pretty major issue by itself. :eek2:
