: G8 GT H-pipes available for immediate shipment!
StolenFox 04-16-2008, 07:23 PM The parts for sale section doesnt get many looks so I thought I would post this here also.
Ive got (26) G8 GT H-pipes ready to ship. These replace the stock 2-in /2-out resonator and help to produce a nice clean rumble.

LOL.... idk...
So, if I just do the resonator/H pipe swap without any other mods (i.e. keep stock muffs), what's the result? I'm looking to get just a little more rumble, but no loud drone. This is really my wife's DD, so I need it to stay kinda tame. But, I would like to give it a little more ballzzz. :)

The H-pipe will help increase the volume slightly if you retain stock mufflers because you are in effect removing one large muffler from the system. How much louder I can't say but know that 90% of the sound reduction has to be happening is the monstrous rear mufflers.
I do know that it will change the tone of the exhaust to a much more pleasing muscle car sound.

BriskG8GT 04-19-2008, 04:11 PM What is the difference between getting the H pipe or an X pipe made?
I went to a local muffler shop today and they suggested for power and sound to get an x pipe over an H pipe. They said the gains were more. Any suggestions?

Sound.
The power difference between the two at the horespower levels of these cars is within the margin of error on the Dyno. X-pipes build more high rpm horespower while H-pipes build more low end torque. Both are far superior to a true dual exhaust with no crossover. Unless its a its a racecar, this is a mod for sound quality. H-pipes produce a deep rumble while X-pipes make a slightly higher pitched scream.
I am working on an X-pipe design now so I can offer both styles.

tzoid9 06-01-2008, 08:55 PM .......and I received and had the "H" pipe installed in my G8GT. Sound level at idle is about the same as stock system. I also have the Roto Fab CAI. When you nail it, sounds very strong. Not abnoxious, just a big engine kind of strong. It's pretty much exactly what I was looking for. The car I traded was a Hemi Charger R/T with Flowmasters installed where the suitcase muffler was, plus a Mopar CAI. That had a slight rumble at idle (very nice) and it sounded really good at full throttle...the G8's almost as nice, not quite, but still OK.

I think Im finally hopping on a G8 this afternoon (classic - arlington). If so, I'll be on this.
GXPaycheck 06-17-2008, 01:18 PM Hey Ryan! I finally got around to installing the cat-back. Went in easy, even for a mechanically impaired person. Fit was darn near perfect. If my OCD kicks in I may have to do some tweaking. Sound is perfect.
Now I need to get a welder to do the H-pipe.
Thanx again! Hope yer enjoying yer summer!
