Went in for my inspection sticker to day. The tech was a younger dude in his late 20's. He gave the car a once over and wasn't sure what it was. I had a grin. He says, "Nice car, that's Bad Ass". I say, "Thanks, it's a Pontiac...has the Corvette engine in it." He says, "Wow, the six liter?". I say, "Yup". He looks at the car and smiles and says "Must fly". "YUP!!" We both laugh.

COOL! And the stories begin!:wink2:

I get a few looks and comments in my Grand Prix, can't wait to turn heads with the G8........damn 4 year lease.

I actually have almost gotten more people recognize my G8 and comment about it then my WS6 when I got it new, but of course when I got mine 2000, they were not new. I have young, middle age, and old people look, and comment about the car. Alot of time I come out of the store and see someone doing the round about looking at it, trying to look inside (dark tint). And, yep, most of the people that comment about it say, must be fast.

I got mine first day of April, I also noticed alot of people don't know what it is, and alot also do, they say "hey, is that the new G8, I read about that" and I also noticed lower class, middle class, and higher class people "read" about it somewhere, so that just goes to show, I think this will be the car Pontiac needed to keep Pontiac Excitement.

Sometimes it gets tiring, I want to go in a restuarant to eat or a store, and get stopped with 20 questions. Makes you feel good, but when your hungry, Grrrrrrrrr.

Except it doesn't have a Corvette engine in it....

True, but to explain the difference between the L76 engine and the rest of the LS series engines to someone unacquainted with the mechanical differences is impossible. Hence, when you say, "It has the Corvette engine", people understand what you mean. Sooo a bit of streching the truth, but close enough. :gears:

I drove through a micky d's the other night, and when I went to pick up the food, this young girl leans out and asks me if it's a G8. I tell her yes, and she looks inside and tells this young man, "See, I told you!".

I started shopping for a car in November last year, had to have a GM, very loyal. Also the fat my wife works for a dealer made it particularly necessary. I am one of the people that notices cars, my wife cant see it, "its just a car it gets you from point A to point B". Bought the Liquid Red G8 GT, fully loaded, at a great price the first of April. Not a day goes by that some one doesn’t stop to stare or ask me about it. Yesterday was my wife’s turn, dropped her off to get her hair cut, I sat in the car. When she went in the first thing another Customer said to her was "how you like your car? very nice". She just looks out the window at me with a big smile, she finally got it!
