I'm looking for other owners on the east side of Central Florida. Nothing formal, just a meet and greet, maybe. Anyone interested? I have only seen 2 other G8s since I bought mine on June 27, 09. I have a 2009.5 Liquid Red GT, with premium and sport, no sunroof, no mods yet except amp adjustment.

Glad to see another member from orlando, i live in east orlando over on goldenrod. I have a 2008 white g8 gt only mods right now are new era cai and tune. I have seen maybe 3 or 4 g8's here in orlando since june 08.lol It would be nice to have a meet and greet keep me posted if you come up with a date and time.

I'm glad to see more Cent. Fl. G8 owners are finding this website. I have seen a Stryker Blue on Old Lockwood Rd. several times. I see a Liquid Red identical to mine on Mitchell Hammock Rd. a couple times a week. Also see a Black GXP on Chapman Rd. but that guy won't even wave to a "lowly" GT owner. I will make a few trips to speed world in January. I'm going to try to go on Wed. nights, you can usually get more passes in, not as crowded.

any get togethers planned would be neat to meet up with other g8 owners

I am East Orlando Avalon area and would like to hit Speedworld on some Wednesday. Although I hear Fridays aren't too bad either, just depends on number of oil dump breakages at starting line.

My baby got new shoes recently...I'm very pleased...

we were planning to do another meet probably the middle or end of march. The more g8's come out to the meet the better. I definitely like to see the g8 with some new shoes on her. I'm thinking about doing the samething but i'm so hook on performance right now so that will have to wait. Plus i like to see more of us out the the track maybe have some grudge match, since i always have the bad luck of getting paired up with someone who runs a 15sec 1/4 mile or slower. Let me know who all in if we can set up a date and time either for the middle of march or the end.

It all depends on what time I can get out of work. Set up a date/time and I will be there if I can. BTW, I saw a Stryker blue GT at Twin Rivers golf club today(wed). Is that anybody from here?

Hey whats going on rillo71, yea the track is open this friday but i have to work this friday night. If your free next friday i can meet you at the publix parking lot and we can roll from there to the track. nada9090 I was thinking either the 19th or the 26th of this month which would be on a friday or we can do a saturday whatever it takes to get more g8's out. Time wise i'm hoping we can get some other board members to post a good time to meet up. A time we can all agree on and have a better turn out. I was thinking between 5pm to 8pm on either 19th or 26th, or maybe on a saturday but a little earlier in the afternoon. I know we have more g8's in this area just from looking at the number of views on this post :)

A Friday night could work for me, depending on the time. I've never gone to the track here in Orlando and while I wouldn't run the 1/4 (on the RX8 forum a guy did that, hit some oil and his RX8 was a total loss not covered by his insurance of course so I've been scared since, lol) it should be fun.

Also, how about we find a good road to take as many G8's as possible on...take some video, have lunch, etc....???

I'm free next friday for just a meet or to meet out to the track. But i think thats a good idea to maybe do a cruise, i was thinking of going to cocoa beach. we can just take hwy. 520 all the way out and it runs right into the beach you can't get lost. Plus there is alot of open road on 520 to do some vids and there some place that are pretty good to eat at or we can head to clearwater fl. beach. just some ideas i'm throwing out there for a cruise, I don't know how far everyone is willing to travel on a cruise.

I've marked it down on my calendar. See everyone next Friday. I would prefer track time, but a cruise would work as well. If we cruise to the beach, maybe Clearwater would be better. We could also throw a shout out to the Tampa G8 club and see if they are up for anything..... More food for thought. That or perhaps Daytona....

Hey, maybe just a meet and greet for Friday with maybe a trip to the track.

We can do the cruise on a Saturday morning to have more time and more light. The point here is to travel as a group, video, pictures, etc.

I think we are all up for Friday so we just have to finalize what to do that night.

Also, remember that at Waterford Lakes they have car shows of some kind and we can represent there as a group with the G8.

So, the point is we can use Friday for quick meet and stay within the area and maybe a Saturday morning for the cruise.

Hey guys....new to this board. I have had my GXP for a couple of months now. So far I have added a Roto-fab CAI and Livernois tune.

Definitely would love to meet up with you guys and learn about running at a local track.

I think 7pm is a good time, the track close at 10:30pm. so if we hang out for a while and then head to the track around 8 or sooner. we can still get atleast 2 maybe 3 passes at the track all depends on how big of a turn out there is at the track. First major mod will be headers next month and getting her retune. rillo71 you ready to run her again, i know better times are in your future.

7 pm would work, we could hang out for 30 to 40 min and then head over to SpeedWorld. I can't wait to go back and run it again. Oh, yeah, better times are coming I guarantee it.

At orlando speedworld if you run a 13.99 you will need a helmet, but to be honest i have been to that track mutiple times and even though i do have a helmet i really don't wear it, and i have never been spoken to about not having one on either or maybe because i'm only running best low 13's. With you having the gxp and those mods you could be in the 12 sec time range, so i think it would be good for you to get a helmet just in case. But you can go to a pawn shop and get one if you like. i price one at pawn american for 35 bucks. Acceptable helmets are the Snell 2000 and Snell 2005. Other then the helmet thats all you need to run your car.

I didn't make it either. I just got home at 10:00.

Not to rub it in...but that is the best I've seen the track prep last night. When I saw someone snap a axle I knew it was hooking, and sure enough I pulled my best time with a 1.90 60' and ran 12.53 @ 109.

I haven't decided which shop i want to get it done at yet. I guess i need to start calling around and get some estimates for install. After the install and new tune i'll take you for a ride no problem. I have alot of plans for this car, just depends on how much overtime i can squeeze out this year at work.

So, our friends in Cali shared a nice video of their G8 drive and I thought we all could start planing our Central Florida G8 drive. I thought maybe A1A would be a nice drive, clearwater, etc. If anyone knows a nice rural drive that will end somewhere nice to enjoy please share.

rillo71 i may go this friday i'll keep you posted, i just purchase some new rims and H&R springs, so i may run on the stocks one last time, If anyone interested in buying my stock tires and rims i'll be posting them in the buy section in another week or so. I couldn't help myself after seeing g84me g8 :). But i'm down for a cruise. we just need a good route with really no heavy traffic and good place we can stop at to eat or hangout. I'll see if i can come up with a route we can take unless someone has one already. first the rims next are the headers i tell this will be a nice summer :wink2:

If I make it to the track, it will prob be after 8pm. As for the drive: SR520 is 4 lanes now all the way to Cocoa Beach, but there's nowhere in Brevard county to drive on the beach, which would make nice pics. I'm not very knowledgeable about the other coast.

Don't blame me guys, lol, but it seems there is rain coming tonight....gosh, it's like every Friday there is a jerk cloud out there...lol.

As far as a route goes, is everyone pretty much stuck on the beach thing? I have a really nice interior route I ride on my motorcycle around Lake Apopka just over by Clermont. I know of several wonderful mom & pop restaurants we could eat at. Just another idea.

Went to the track late on Friday, showed up around 9:30pm. There was another White GXP, M6 from St. Cloud. His name is Gene and he is interested in joining us for meet and greets.

I had time for one pass as they closed down the track for the night. I posted a 60 ft time of 2.037, but I Fu***d up my shift from 2nd to 3rd and actually went into 5th. Burned my clutch pretty bad as I glazed the hell out of it........ So, what started out as a great run ended in a travesty....... Got getta back out again so I can learn how to drive.... LOL

Like you said, driving school time...lol. I kid, heck I'd probably do worse but don't worry one day you will put it all together and BOOM, you will have a great run.

It's just a matter of practice, like anything else. I've never gone to the track so I'll probably (IF I EVER GO) embarrASS myself out there.

Well I FINALLY made it down the track without incident! I posted a 13.426 @105.55 mph.

Thanks for all the tips and pointers. 2nd run was 14.4 @99.15. I think I need to get my RPMs up higher at the start. As far as I could tell I didn't spin at all. May have had Stabilitrac on. Everything is pretty hectic getting up to the line. It was a lot of fun. I will definitely be there Wed. night since I am off work all next week. Pretty good chance I will be there next Fri., too. I guess i'm lucky because they never have said anything to me yet lol. nda9090 you did pretty good for your first time out i ran around the same time when i first got the g8 after the cold air intake and a lil pratice i was able to get a 13.7 before the tune, now after the tune i'm having problems getting traction. I wish i could have been out there tonight. I'm off this whole week also but i'll be putting the spring on tuesday morning so i might go wednesday or friday either day i'll will be out there. so i'll look for you guys.

I changed my spark plugs to E3 (my boss did and said he got significantly more fuel economy, he has a G8 GT also) so I'll report more after some testing.

Antonio, I saw the pics of your wheels. They look great. I love the black and chrome rims on white cars. I have seen them on red and black cars and they just don't look as good as yours and G84ME. Very nice choice.

I have the Liquid Red on Red Bug Lake every morning around 8-8:30. Then again in the evening around 7. I see a black one almost every morning going toward Oviedo.

Yea i heard of that track from someone, it just sucks that its only 1/8 mile, but i might be curious to just go out there to see there setup at that track.

Corsa, Solo....I'm undecided on a few systems out there but what I want to avoid is drone...I just can't live with that.

I like the SLP look in the rear (the square pipes) and sound, but it also comes with drone so it's a no go.

Hey i was thinking we could have another meet and greet, I was thinking maybe we could have it at one of the Gators Dockside restaurants they have some good wings there. The one i was looking at was in apopka maybe we could all meet up at a center location like the 7-11 on colonial dr and magnolia ave close to downtown orlando. we could meet there and cruise on I-4 and exit off on 436 (semoran blvd.) and gators is about 15mins off 436 exit. Just trying to put something together for the afternoon or evening so we can keep the meets going until we do a big cruise somewhere. We dont have to go to that gators but just trying to get some cruising time with the g8's all together. Date isn't set but i was thinking about maybe next weekend or the following on a saturday. yes 7-11 will be the spot to meet, then we can just all follow as a group up there. just got to figure out a good time during the afternoon to meet there. since it would be a saturday i was thinking 24th of this month at 3pm. plenty of daylight and after we leave gators should still be some sun still out. If the time isnt good let me know we can adjust the time but we need to all agree if everyone up for that date.

I saw two more G8's on Friday. One MGM GT I think heading west on SR 414, at least the rims looked like it, but the exhaust looks like a V6, and another PBM GT on I-4. Who are you guys and why have you not joined the G8 Mafia yet? G8 La Familia! I got an offer you can't refuse!

I met Buickgn and his sister at the Longwood PD car show today. Really nice people. A lot of the Wide Track Warriors were there, too. There were about 100 cars and trucks in the show. I should have entered my car, it would have been the only G8 there.

Really wanted to come to the car show, but had family come into town this pass weekend so i couldn't leave. nda9090 keep us or me posted on the next wide track warrior meet or car show i like to attend the next one.

we have alot of g8's here in orlando and in the greater orlando area. but i swear its maybe 6 or 7 of us that actually post in this region board, and try to meet up. its kinda sad :( lol.

I"m up for the beach as well on sat. if nothing doesn't change from now until sat with my schedule, but I'll go if anybody else wants to ride that way later on that morning or whatever time is good, and i can test out your g8 while were cruising up that way :driving: lol. So anyone has plans for there g8 this summer? I was planning on buying headers and full exhaust for my car next month, but now reading that vector has design a turbo kit for are cars. i think i'm going to take that route since the system runs on the stock headers and i always love the sound of a turbo kit on a car. time to empty the wallet soon :)

I usually only get up that early if I'm going fishing, but I want some beach pics at sun-up. Maybe we should go to Tampa at sunset? I am getting cat-backs, roto-fab and a tune soon. I just haven't made up my mind on which tune yet. SC Cortex would prob. be OK. since I won't be doing anything more until the warranty runs out. That red/onyx shift knob is also on my short list. I like the stock wheels. The stereo is fine for me. I don't want to lower it since I take all 5 family members with me at least a couple times a week.

nda9090 sc cortex is a good can tune for your setup plus they have the CAI tune for the roto-fab. I had the sc cortex before i had the dyno tune done. When i was at the the track with just my new era cai before plugging in the cortex i ran a 13.6 to 13.8 once i installed the cortex 91 tune in. i ran a personal best 13.2 and my 60 was 2.1 imagine if i could have got my 60 down a lil lower, when i ran that time SC didn't have the CAI TUNE out yet. I was thinking about getting that shift knob also.

My 4 year old LOVES the beach so that sounds good but the time is a bit early for them, for me I'd be there in a sec. Let me run it by my wife to see if we can make it out with you.

My plans are an intake/exhuast but I'm waiting on the VCM to be more price competitive before I pull the trigger. $400 shipped is the most I'd pay for it.

Exhuast, GOD HELP ME....I just don't know what to do at all. I can't stand drone and I don't know what would work best in that case but still give me a nice mean rumble when I stomp on it. Solo, Corsa, Borla...custom system with an H-Pipe, I just don't know.

I have contacted PM-FL to change my exhaust order. Instead of their axlebacks I am going to go with the Corsa cat-backs. I don't want any drone since most of my driving is between 35 and 50 mph. On another note, Antonio, where did you go for your dyno tune? I'm going to call Next Level, in Orlando, tomorrow and see what they say. I know a few GTO guys who have been there and say good things.

Nda9090 I have heard of next level performance. i actually emailed them back in oct. of last year asking if they had any aps turbo kits left, and one of the guys emailed me back telling me that they were making a twin turbo kit for the new camaro and that they may retrofit it for the g8 and to contact him the beginning of next year about it. maybe i need to get intouch with them and get some updates on that. But i heard good things from them also from a gto owner from another board. I got my tune with the corvette doctor out in largo,fl he did a real good job on my tune even let me test drive the car around the area first before i paid him and if i didn't like the way the car shift he was going to work with me until i was happy with the tune. He actually has a website its corvettedoctor.com does other things for are cars beside just a tune you will see a g8 section on there. Hopefully i don't get in trouble for plugging in his website lol. But i would try next level performance because they are alot closer. plus alot of gto's have back them up. i might even swing by there myself just to talk to them.

Tomorrow at 5pm at Carl Black is the monthly Pontiac Club meeting(Wide Track Warriors). Some of them usually go out to eat afterward. We could do something before that. What time do the Magic play? On another note, I got my VMS tune today. I'm going to wait until I get the Roto-fab so I can install both together. It will probably be next weekend.

There is also Congo River mini golf a little east of Alafaya on 50. Not too far from Waterford Lakes and Speed World. Very convenient for me, too.

Not yet, but I just ordered the VCM intake and I'd like to get a baseline dyno before I install it and I was wondering if you all would like to get together and find a place to dyno our cars so we can save some bucks and maybe see what our cars stock put down on the road.

Just a thought....and we still have the Speedworld, Mini Golf and drive we have to plan.

The only local place I know of that knows much about our cars is Next Level Perf. in Orlando. I don't know them personally, but I have heard that they will do group dyno-days for a discounted rate if we have enough cars. Not sure what that number would be, but I will try to find out.

Let me know next Speedworld visit, I'll try to make it.
