: LSD not kicking in.
I was at a dead stop and started to slowly accelerate through a 180 degree turn slightly up hill and got on it and it only smoked the inside tire. I was in manual mode and I was in 1st. do I need to be moving a little faster?
jaxredg8 08-17-2009, 09:50 PM Man, when I saw just the thread title, I thought "well, you might want to try another hit!" but now I get it!!
steveua 08-17-2009, 10:18 PM Ha! I know, I was going to say just take a little more and you should be good.
Gavine 08-20-2009, 02:54 PM Was traction control on or off?
DRCUSTOMPARTS 08-20-2009, 03:23 PM The LSD doesn't lock up going around a corner, it's made to slip so it corners smoothly. It only locks up in a straight line, which is when you are on the throttle and need the extra traction then.

Yup, You dont want to spin both tires at the same rate in a corner. one tire has to move faster that the other.

My thought was more like "Naw dude, shrooms are much safer".
juspimpin 08-20-2009, 07:33 PM I can get both tires spinning around a corner...called drifting..
Thats what im trying to do, steer with the throttle and the damn car wont go side ways, I tried it in the rain tonight and it still wont go side ways. And yes, the esp was off.
RWD-V8 08-21-2009, 06:46 AM My M6 GXP gets totally sideways when I punch it in a corner with TC off. It also puts down two perfectly neat, strait black patches when I dump the clutch from a stop. The marks start and end dead even with each other. Luv it!!!
sykotek-g8 08-21-2009, 10:13 AM Your diff isn't working right. They should both spin. Go to you dealer and tell them that your car won't drift right.... haha.
Seriously, tell them you are having trouble driving in the rain because the diff is not locking up (yeah I know, not a locker, just the word I chose).
Can you get them to both spin in the rain in a straight line?
Gavine 08-21-2009, 06:39 PM Do you have the V6 or GT? I don't think the V6 has an LSD, does it?
StraightG8 08-21-2009, 06:54 PM they should both spin if you apply the throttle (torque) unless I'm wrong, It's a clutch-type differential. Locks up with more power/torque from the driveshaft.

something seriously wrong
My car gets sideways around any turn left or right (when turning from a stop)--- well, if I want it to.. And if it is wet, it is too easy.
matthewo 08-22-2009, 09:11 AM they will both spin in a turn. you just have to get into it more. i have 275s out back, and unless im on it really hard coming out of a corner or coming from a dead stop almost flooring it, both tires wont spin.
but your right, it is more likely for both to spin in a straight line then in a turn, but its still doable
