Need some advice on selecting a dealer for warranty, recalls, and other service in Suffolk county. Bought my '09 G8 GT out of town. Looking for a dealer with a good reputation for quality work, honest, pleasant, etc. I am fairly knowledgeable and very anal about my car and will raise hell if not treated right or if they try to play me. Did a search on local dealers and found:

Smithtown
Port Jefferson
Riverhead
Arnold
Mack
Sun

Smithtown or Riverhead.. those are the 2 i know people at (one working for the chevy dealer i bought 4 cars from, the other is the GM).


the Pt Jeff one i had a bad experience with, and wont ever send anyone there...

Smithtown-heard they are "mod friendly"
Port Jefferson-heard great things-a member here introduced me to srvice guy.
Riverhead-???
Arnold-great experience so far!!!
Mack- good overall(bought my car there)but mechanics OK
Sun- run for your life,had the worst experience-serv,manager LIES to your face-FACT

I've heard bad things about Pt Jeff service as well...friend with a GTP was unhappy with them... did you choose anyone yet?

All I recommend is not to bad mouth any dealers on this site...as you know many dealers are closing...you never know when the only ones left might be the ones you slam on here...fact....Smithtown, Port Jeff, Huntigton, Wantagh, as well as many others have all closed.

ok. I wouldn't normally disagree with your comment. But if the service isnt up to the others, why wouldn't you want to know? I certainly would want the heads-up.
