: Finally got the 19's on, check it out
locrzng888 04-19-2008, 10:31 AM Got the 19's mounted for some pictures to view. The rear tires are not the ones I will be running. We just tried the 245-40-19's on the rear to take pictures and to see if they would stick out to far. They aren't really wide enough for the 9.5 wheels. I'm ordering a 255-40-19 to replace those. They are just a little wider and taller to take away that sidewall lean. The fronts will still be the 245-40 on the 8.5 wheels. I wanted to get some pictures posted to you could take a look and give your opinion. There are a few more pics on cardomain you can look at.

Congrats! Looks pretty good.
locrzng888 04-19-2008, 10:52 AM Thanks for posting, I'm not sure how you do that, explain so I can post them correctly next time. You know that I'm old and not up on all this stuff. Glad you like. It will look better when I get the correct tire on the rear. I ordered the 255-40 from tirerack today, should be here Wednesday or Thursday. I'll post again then. I think thats gonna give me enough room to drop it about an inch or so.
dodson914 04-19-2008, 10:57 AM There is a little mountain looking icon on your reply screen. If you click it, it will bring up a window to paste the image location, it will put the code in for you.
Or you can type it out INSERT IMAGE LOCATION HERE just make sure to take the spaces out. :)
locrzng888 04-19-2008, 11:35 AM Thanks, I'll try that when I get the correct tires for the rear.
boostedG8 04-19-2008, 11:57 AM What offset are you running in the rear? How much space do you have between the inside of the tire/wheel and your suspension?
I am trying to figure out how much room is still on the inside, so I can go with a wider wheel... Thanks
locrzng888 04-19-2008, 12:02 PM The rears are +45 and the front +35. There is a bunch of room on the inside, I didn't measure because I've got another set of tires ordered for the rear. Well over an inch I would imagine. When I get them mounted for good, I'll give measurement. G8er put 20x10's on his and didn't have any clearance problems.
good luck

G8 Ray 04-19-2008, 02:19 PM Thanks, I'll try that when I get the correct tires for the rear.
Wheels look really nice.
locrzng888 04-19-2008, 06:05 PM thanks
Rue_G8GT 04-20-2008, 07:15 AM Looks great. :)
locrzng888 04-20-2008, 08:01 AM Hopefully I'll have it all together mid week. They didn't send the hubcentric rings with the wheels either, so, I'm waiting on those also. Tires and rings should arrive about the same time. Rue, are you in the military? Where in Germany? I was at Landstuhl 2nd General Hospital in the Military.
Cashed 04-20-2008, 11:26 AM Looks good, man.
GEE ATE 04-20-2008, 05:32 PM What happens with the TPMS when you put new wheels on without the sensors? Is there a light that goes off in the dash? Were you able to reuse the factory sensors?
locrzng888 04-20-2008, 09:09 PM I bought the sensors direct from gm, about 44.00 a piece. That way I can leave the sensors in the stock wheels to run in the winter. I did the same thing with my 300c. Works great and you don't have to pay some guy to break the wheels down when you ready to change wheels as the seasons change.

That is really high for the sensors. I want to say Discount Tire charged me less than $15 a piece for them.
locrzng888 04-21-2008, 02:52 PM They listed for $54 and I paid $43.00. I've been told that some of the aftermarket sensors can cause some problems, I just didn't want to take the chance. You gotta pay the fiddler sometimes. No big deal. Thats a minor part of what I'll probably end up spending on this car.

No I'm a civilian over here. My father was in the Army and we were stationed at Schweinfurt from 1991-1995. My family went back to the states in January 1995 and I stayed here with my girlfriend at the time who is now my wife. Been living here since then. :)
TireDoc 05-01-2008, 09:23 AM I'd do 275/35R19 on the rears !

:iagree:
I think your setup looks a little tame for aftermarket wheels. Why not go wider on the rear? I had a 255 on my 8.5" wide(AWD) rim on my last car and would've gone wider if I could do it again, yet you're running a 255 on a 9.5?. It looks like there is still plenty of room...
SRG963 05-03-2008, 07:02 PM I think the wider you go, the more dirt and other crap, gets kicked up on the side of the car. To each their own I guess. I personally think 20s will be the perfect size/look for this car.
G8addict 05-13-2008, 01:34 PM Sorry, I don't like those rims. But as long as you like them, that is all that matters. :)
locrzng888 05-13-2008, 02:45 PM They are starting to grow on me, I didn't like them in the beginning, I wanted to send them back after we mounted them and put them on the car. Status wheel wouldn't take them after mounting. So, I own them, they look much better in real life. I'm still undecided what I'm going to do. The people who see them in person love them, about half that see them in photos dislike them. I think what I like least about them is the covered lug nuts. Just doesn't do anything for me. I probably will go to the 285 pretty soon. I'm putting my money in the performance upgrades. My finished intake and h-pipe, I want it to run like hell as well. There is a balance to all this madness. I'm waiting patiently on eibach to get their prokit out in late May or early June. That will make a difference in the attitude of the car and probably make the wheels look better also. Hey, what can you say, love em hate em. No big deal.
_G8GT_ 05-13-2008, 03:56 PM I'm not a fan sorry. I'm sure they look better in person but to me they make the wheels look small. I would of gone with black wheels for a red car. just me though.
mygto 05-13-2008, 06:09 PM Nice.:D
