Anybody have any idea if we can upgrade the 08 to bluetooth? They says it's a bug with onstar, well is the upgrade a new HU or it is software? I doubt GM is building a new HU, but I could be wrong.

JHP might offer a bluetooth kit, but they'all charge $500 for it. If it was $250 like all other aftermarket HU bluetooth options, I'd do it.

Assuming the 09 G8 Bluetooth will be like other GM models, this is a change in the Onstar module, not the HU and not the Aussie Bluetooth module. I have seen it referenced as Onstar 8.0. Whether or not you can get a new Onstar module and how it will integrate with previous model years are the main questions.

That post is interesting because those dates work nicely with 2009 G8 info that has been discussed here. It may also explain the on and off option list on the GM site. It also describes the operation of Bluetooth and Onstar and why that integration is important.
