Anyone who has a G8 GT, report here how many miles you have on your car and how it has been working for you so far. I'd like to hear people's reviews on the G8 GT especially if they got some good mileage on it.

I've got about 1,400 on mine,no problems excellent mileage, and RADIO KICKS ASS! I don't know what everyones gripe is about the radio. I was extremely happy that I didn't have to go out and spend $2g's on head unit, speakers, amp, ect...

Just turned 3100 this week. A-OK. Trans is still a little slow, but I should be getting the VMS TCM cals on Monday so we'll see how that goes. Performance is good, but I always want more. Handling is great, but I'm coming from an 01 GP GTP, so that's probably not too surprising. MPGs seem like they're getting better, but I may just be going easier on her. Still amazingly quiet on the inside which I kinda like.

I have 2500 miles on her and no reported problems. My hood is not quite lined up at the catch, but I'll have the body shop check it out when i go in for my secret paint job next week.

A little over 2000mi here.

Fuel economy is between 16-17 in mostly city driving with a lead foot and bumper-to-bumper traffic on the drive home. I get 20-22 on the highway at 70+mph.

I have no problem with the audio. Of course, I'm not much of an audiophile.

Pluses:
+Power is addictive.
+The ride quality is still awesome.
+Handling is excellent and predictable.
+Traction Control comes in very handy.
+No squeaks have surfaced yet.
+The novelty still hasn't worn off for me or the general public.
+I've gotten used to the tranny quirks so I know when to let off the gas to help speed/firm up the shifting.
+Seats are very comfortable.
+The trunk is HUGE.

Minuses:
-The gas door has developed a tendency to pop open on its own. I have to keep an eye on it and close it before locking the car doors. This would be easier if the door was on the driver's side. Although, I like the gas door on the passenger side as it seems few cars in this area are configured this way so waiting for a gas pump is non-existent.
-Paint chips easily. I've already got several on the front and the driver's rocker. Of course, my car is white over a dark base so they show up really easily.
-People still like to gawk at it instead of passing so I can get out from behind the slow poke in front of me.
-Center console is lower and smaller than I'd like.
-Seat adjustment controls leave a lot to be desired.
-Steering telescoping doesn't have as much range as I'd like. I've got longer legs than I do arms.
-Those ugly "Atari" gauges.
-Doesn't sound as good as it feels.
-Tranny is still funky. You have to learn to adapt or it's like it has a mind of its own, one that's not geared towards performance.

Radio??? I think it's great.

See my gripe list in the other thread. I've narrowed it down to an uncomfortable seat back (however it could be my back vs. the seats) and lack of V-8 sound. (at idle it sounds like a 4 cylinder vs. my GP GXP that always reminded me it was a V-8).

1,300 miles on mine and I enjoyed every mile! I drove to Gainesville for Pinks All Out (200+ miles round trip) with a total of four adults in the car, a full tank of gas, and a loaded cooler in the trunk. The car drove like there was no one in it! My friends in the back were extremely comfortable. I have no downs about this car that can't be improved (TCM). I'm not wealthy, this is my first new car and the most expensive car I've ever bought.....and I love it! No regrets! I thought the G8 got a lot of attention around town, but at Pinks it was amazing! Thumbs up from everybody.

2300 miles and running strong. On hard corners I can hear something small rolling under the dash. It doesn't bother me enough to bring it in and let the GM Mechanics break and scar the nice dash to remove whatever it is.

1,000 miles and no gripes, no rattles, nothing to fix. The radio is fine enough for any car. Putting a state of the art stereo system in a rolling noise generator is a total waste of money, IMHO. If I wanna listen critically to music, I'll go home to my state of the art home theater system. If I'm in the car, I'm rollin' and such subtleties are wasted in the background noise of a big L76 and tires on the pavement. Just beginning to push it a bit.

My GTO had something rolling around in it too. It sounded like it was near the sill by the drivers door. It only did it every now and then. It wasn't in the door. Weird. I could here it go front to back.

1250 miles to date. Fuel economy is approx 12 - 14 mpg in city driving, 22 mpg on the highway. Combined I'm getting about 18 mpg.

No big gripes, just a couple of minor complaints. The summer-only tires are very noisy, much more so than the all-seasons on the car that I test drove (which was a V6). The rear suspension is very audible, too - I put this down to the cavernous trunk not being well acoustically insulated.

Also the engine is a bit noisy mechanically at idle. I'm keeping an eye and ear open due to this. I can't hear it if the radio is on, even at low volume, but it's noticeable absent of any masking sounds.

The pluses are just as everyone else is reporting: good power, good handling and braking, good driver and passenger comfort - the car is a very nice blend of practicality and fun.

Overall I'm really enjoying the ride.

Is it better or worse than the Monsoon speakers on the 04+ Grand Prix?

im at just about 700miles. everything is going alright mpg is low but that might have something to do with my size 14 lol. Only problem I had so far is the paint on the rear bumper and above the tailights. The bumper had some overspray on it from somethign and when i took it to the dealewr they sanded it and made it worse so i got a complimentary paint job on the bumper. About the spot above the tails... i gotta have em look at it when i take for my oil change. it looks as if someone leaned on the drying clearcoat.

Well I don't know about everyone else's but my radio constantly gets a static sound while listening to anyone talk on it. Works great for me since I listen to a LOT of talk radio. :banghead:

It's not awful for a stock radio. It's just not great. My truck's stock radio was better imo on clarity but did not get as loud.

If you are going to compare it to ANY stereo aftermarket or OEM, it's not a good stereo at all.

Oh, the car is great. Keeps getting better and better, thanks to the sponsors on the site. :D Now somebody get over to American Racing and get some headers made! I am so tired of waiting. LOL

I should probably no that, but all i want to know is, is it better than the monsoon on the other Pontiacs? As long as i can get out my car and i can hear the music clear with the windows down then i'm ok. I dont wanna do too much audio aftermarketing with this vehicle, as i hate aftermarketing audio on new vehicles. Replacing the head unit for this vehicle is a no-no since the dual-climate temps are displayed on that screen.
