So is anybody else here running their car at the standing mile in October? It's being held at the Dade Collier Airport on October 11th. I got an opportunity to join the party through a tuner friend of a friend, and seeing as it's something you don't get to do everyday, figured "why the hell not?"

There are some very impressive machines on the registration list. My car is sure to be one of the slower ones. Among the list are a couple other G8s actually, one with nitrous and another with headers, exhaust, and nitrous. Would those happen to belong to anyone here?

Right now my car only has the Corsa catback, but in preparation for this event I'm planning on finally getting a Roto-Fab and tune on it (especially the tune, or otherwise I'll end up hitting the limiter, and that would seriously be a drag :) ). Obviously I won't put down as impressive a showing as the other G8s there (not to mention some of the other monsters that are going), but it's sure to be a blast.

Oh... and I'm going to be #76, for L76 of course. :)

So, anyone else already going, or interested in joining? Also, any tips when it comes to tuning my car, or just running the mile in general?

FYI, there's also a thread about this on TOS, and there are actually 3 other G8s going other than mine... all of us are on both boards. Anyone else interested in joining? It's going to be a blast for damn sure.

I checked it out and it seems cool and looks like Wreck will be there. I would be there too but its my daughter's 4th b-day and the 150 that it cost is going to retune my car for headers,nitrous and converter. Hopeflly this will happen again next year, the cam will be in by then for sure.

Damn. Looks like a road trip might be in order!! Sounds like a blast. They opened up the runway on the base I worked at for something like this and it was awesome!

Your daughters b-day is the priority, obviously! I'm not sure how often this happens as I only heard about it recently (and signed up very quickly!) but I don't see why it wouldn't happen yearly. There's definitely a lot of people signing up.

Yeah, it's definitely going to be awesome. If you check the other board, there's 3 other guys (other than me) going, and they're on both boards. Hell, I'd love to see what your car would do in one of these events.
