Hi, I have 700+ miles on my car GTG8 #11 and the Tire Monitor sysyem game on and said it faulted. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, any thing I can do or do I need to take back to dealer?

I know this is a stupid question but are your tires low? If not you are going to have to go back to the dealer to have them check it out.

Thanks. Tire pressure is good.I thought someone else out on the Board had the same problem, but I can't remember what section I saw it in.

I haven't read anything about anyone having problems with them. But, that doesn't mean anything.

When I had new ones installed on my new wheels the guys at discount were saying it's illegal for anyone other than the dealer to clear that TPMS light. So you will definitely need to go to the dealer if it is staying on.

Thanks. I will post when I find out what the dealer says.

I posted on this. It has only happened when driving for extended periods of time. 20+ minutes at highway speeds. Fortunately I don't do alot of highway driving. Basically the indicator shows all four wheels as dash's instead of some numeric value. I'm not reel concerned right now. Gonna wait till I have the oil changed.

Thanks. I new I saw it somewhere. So no way to reset it myself? If not do I need to get it looked at right away or will it wait until I get a day off?

mine resets when I turn the car on and off. the warning light goes away. your problem may be different than mine.

As long as you have air in the tires, you can wait until you have a chance to bring it in.

Take a look at your manual. It explains how to reset your tires sensors. Maybe reseting could cure your problem?

I answer this question before from another thread concerning this. Yes you can reset it yourself by going through the engineering mode in the dash. Then you have to manually have to bleed the air out of each tire just to hear the horn and lights to sound. Start with the Left Front then the Right Front, Right Rear then finally Left Rear then your done with the horn and lights beeps/flashes 3 times. Or you can buy the sensor calibrator from GM or from a auto store. The one GM uses costs about $600.

Thanks for everyone imput. I will check the manual first on resetting, but if that doesn't work I will take to dealer.

Just had the same issue. You will not believe what is causing it. My wife left her laptop in hibernation mode in the back seat. The TPM fault took place during a drive so I decided to take it to a dealer a few days after. Before I made to the dealer I noticed the fault would only happen when my wife brought her lap top. We did a test and yes it is the wireless signal from the lap top that is messing with the TPM system. No I make her completely turn it off. I check the manual and it does say that some wireless signals may effect the system.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I have had the exact same issue with my sensors! The gage just shows dashes instead of each tire's PSI reading. This happened on the way home from the dealer!!!

Same issue here. I tried turning off the car and back on but still comes back. I let it sit overnight and it went away. We'll see what happens later today.

Back when I had my stock 19's I finally solved mine by doing a TPMS sensor relearn. It's in the manual. Try it am see if it works for you.

So we can use these cars to find wi-fi hotspots? Just dricve around until TPMS malfunctions?

On a serious aspect, something to look foreward to if you live in bitter north you may find TPMS going off in winter when moisture in one or more tires turns to ice on sensor. Driving enough to heat up tire cures it.

I spent several hours at the dealership today. They said that it seems like the battery must have went dead at some point before I bought it and reset the whole system. Then their computer wouldn't read the tire stem. Come to find out, they hadn't updated their computer to read the new G8!!!

Well there is something to look forward to! I'll bet there will be some days around here where no amount of driving will "heat up" the tires...:)
