Ahhh, I see. You had me confused for a minute.

I was thinking they had done some kind of redesign or something but looking at the photos I couldn't see anything.

What's the mpg difference between the before and after?

Thanks.

They won't publish an official number, but do say you will see a difference. Driving habits vary so it's hard to nail down.

+35 hp.......

That's their claim, and they will buy it back if you don't see the performance promised.

One of the guys in our Dallas G8 club has one on his GXP. He likes it, and it looks great too. IMHO, it would look better w/out that B I G VR sticker on the intake. :)

No. The snorkle has been modified with a support post in the middle of it.

Any issues with water getting into them? Hydrolocking an engine is a bad thing.

Not unless you plan to completely submerge the inlet and filter, no. Keep out of 3 foot tall puddles and I think you should be okay.

Wasn't hating, just asking. :wink2: It never hurts to double check.

No hate assumed. I was only answering factually :) This whole "hydrolocking" thing is blown way out of proportion on the internet these days, I think. ;)

Hydolocking is bad! I know of 3 engines here to have died from it and I don't want to be #4.

Yes, it's bad, but it's not as widespread as the internet forums would have you believe. A sprinkling of water on a filter will not harm the engine. It happens when the filter and intake tube are 100% submerged under water. Bottom breather filters are more at risk and drivers of cars with those installed have to use common sense and not drive through water that will submerge the filter completely.

The 3 documeneted here were not 100% submerged in water. I believe all they went through was sitting outside during a very heavy rain fall.

That being said, the VaraRam has not been involved with any of these incidents. jackalope you should have nothing to fear with the VaraRam.

I would love to see more data on those...that is very unusual unless the filter is almost at the ground and it must have been very, very, very heavy rain with a lot of throttle.

Good to see you offering this setup. I'm still a firm believer you need a tune to go with this air intake to see 35 whp. It does look great and really makes WOT sound great. I love mine.

Tune is always best, but bolt on is a fine option for those who want a decent bang for the buck.

YES it is!!
+1

I have this intake on my car and I like it a lot. I have had zero problems with water. Its been in rain and I also spray the front bumper off from bugs about once a week at the car wash. I have the hood vents cut out too and I still have yet to have more than a few wet spots under the hood.

I'm one whose engine hydrolocked. Had a different otr intake on than this one and dont beleive that it would have happened with this intake on. Check out my souvenier.
