I did the same thing with a piece of silver tape. $1.75 Of course, my G8 is white and the chrome/silver wouldn't really show up anyway. Now... if I had a BLACK one... might be worth it.

What is the point in that strip exactly? :s
pointless.

I think most here would be more interested in dechroming their windows, rather than adding chrome to the trunk. How about a cost for the black window trim?

Chrome should be reserved for Harleys, semi trucks and 1950's Buicks.

Zaphod's opinion is that that simple chrome strip on the back looks nice. It adds a touch of jewelry to a rather plain back end.

(Not $175 nice, but nice nevertheless! :D )

That's nice; I like it. Of course, I'm guessing that $587 cost would grow to about $1,000 with shipping :banghead:

Ha! Sorry, I couldn't help myself. I was really bored at work. LOL

But, it's obviously an aesthetic piece. So it's not necessarily pointless if you like the way it looks. ;)

it does make the area around the number plate lights look neater too :D

the area that attaches is actually larger than the visible strip itself, hence the price

The black out around the side windows can be shipped to southern california for the $587, then shipping cost from CA to ?

I'm not sure what kind of reply you are expecting.
And we are actually closed until Monday too.

This option is coming from $80,000 in USD vehicle. It's a molded piece, chromed specifically designed to perfectly fit the trunk lid. I am sorry it's not in your price range.

Hmm, I think I'll just figure out a way to de-chrome it myself. $600+ is a bit much for plastic window molding, even if it is coming from Australia.

That is the negative size of having a newly introduced vehicle.. Supply and demand. If you think that is bad, never get a vette because you will be seriously unhappy shelling out the cash for appearance mods :banghead:

The SS-V spoiler is about $615 painted & delivered, or about $100 less unpainted, there is also a smaller SV6 spoiler or the HSV Senator lip spoiler both available from JHP.

Its nice to have options, some people say that spending $30K on a car is to much, but price...... I suppose you get what you pay for when you buy genuine parts.

I'm gonna have to save up some duckets to pick one of those up.
To install one I'm assuming you have to remove the lip spoiler on the GT. Does that leave holes on the trunk lid?

Maybe you get what you pay for when shipping doesn't double the price.

it doesn't on that item. It's a relatively small item and regular postal services can be used. Just low production items for upscale cars tend to cost higher.

Yes when you fit the SV6 or SSV spoiler the G8 lip has to be removed and the trunk will need the G8 spoiler holes filled or you can just add color coded plugs.

I think the piece looks awesome, but after shipping it will be a little expensive and I would rather put that towards something else. Very nice though :)
