: FS: #888...yeah, the winner's car...
drob8 04-23-2008, 03:56 PM I don't know if this is technically legal, so I apologize to the moderators for any violation.
The winner of the #888 sold his car to Village Pontiac in Naperville and they are now reselling it. I didn't get any pricing info, but my sales rep there asked if I knew anyone that was interested.
So, if you're interested, head to Village and ask for Steve Procarione. Tell him Mike Drobick sent you and maybe they'll give me a deal on the next car I buy from them. :D Actually, I think a get a $50 referral fee.
I cant believe he sold it, somebody that actually wanted one should have won that contest, but I know thats the way it goes.
Scalarrthu 04-24-2008, 12:53 AM Does anybody know what the color of the car is?
jsalbre 04-24-2008, 12:55 AM Red.

Yes that's a bummer, but for all we know, selling that car could have been what kept his home from being forclosed on...etc. I know if it came down to it, I would hate it, but I would sell it too.
BigMan95Impala 04-24-2008, 03:23 PM for all we know maybe he sold it and bought a black one
Not everyone wants a red car u know...

Cool_Hand_Luke 04-25-2008, 03:49 PM Red??????
Pontiac should have specified a good looking color for #888. A totally unique color would of been even better.
BigMan95Impala 05-01-2008, 11:06 AM as a former barbados blue owner myself i would have liked to see it or a similar color in the g8
on paper in 2004 the barbados looked FUGLY
my dealer got one in
I had it in a few days, no one would have ever known it was that good looking of a color, the page in the 04 booklet made it look nasty
sccaGTO 05-01-2008, 05:06 PM Red??????

Sounds like you wanted #888 to be Ignition Orange. :p
Ryan M 05-02-2008, 03:17 AM I woulda took #888 if I won even if it was still primer with no paint. Red is fine too.
chiefpontiac 05-02-2008, 08:08 AM Sad when someone takes up entry space when they really don't want the prize. He did take the trip, however.
Now consider this, #888, if technically received by winner and then sold to teh dealer - is now a USED car. Worth 30% less than invoice becasue it is a USED car, not eligible for loyalty cash or GM Card earnings. Warranty is transferable, unlike if it were a Dodge (lifetime powertrain only to first owner) Maybe I'll call them up and offer $25k. But who wants to bet they have it priced closer to $40k?
G8 Ray 05-02-2008, 08:12 AM My understanding, it's only a used car if it was registered.
macgto 05-02-2008, 09:42 PM I though 888 was Magnetic Grey. Wasn't that the one they gave away at Homestead? I saw a picture of them handing over the keys, and I'm certain it was MGM.

Yep.. A friend of mine got a STEAL of a deal on a new harley. Lady won it in a contest with no intentions of ever riding. Guess its the same reason elderly people win the lottery or people who win vehicles with no driver's licenses..
izayn 05-05-2008, 03:49 PM Can you say they are crazy for that price 34,999 who! But if they have it listed as used they can do whatever they want with the price. But they better be ready to sit on it for a while. to have 888 would be cool but not cool enough for that price or for cops to have fun with your check book!
T2Vigil 06-06-2008, 08:37 PM Unless the tax laws have changed or the state law is different than Georgis he had to have taken a beating. Reason being is once signed over to him as the "Winner" he now owes income tax on his "Winnings". So his net winning will be less than the sold price by whatever tax bracket he is in.
