ANy thoughts on the new era cai? Is it a dry filter setup? Am planning on getting one soon but didn't want to spend a ton of money....plan on doing CAI, X pipe, remove resonators, tune taking out AFM and 87 tune

Are talking about the side one? or the OTR? I have the old style NewEra CAI. its ok for the money, sounds great and noticeable performance difference without tuning.

Why would you disable AFM for a 87 tune?

it seems most, if not all intakes available for the G8 wake the engine up pretty well and have a great sound.

Getting rid of AFM AND the 87 Tune, want all motor all the time and tune for 93, should gain some serious HP I would think along w/ intake and exhaust work.

No reason a 6 litre engine should only be making 361 hp

I have the New Era CAI and it is a dry filter setup. I liked it for the look first and the fact that it goes into the well further than most. Sound is aggressive on it's own, add an exhaust and you won't really hear it too much. All the intakes add about the same10-20hp tuned, it all about what you like and can afford. Good luck!!

Thanks thats what I was looking for, I have heard too many issues w/ the oiled filters. I had an AEM brute force on my GTO, don't know if they make any for the G8. I was basically looking for the cheapest dry CAI for the G8.

I will be selling my New Era CAI side mount as soon as I get my Vararam. Its on its way from Maryland Speed.:)

I've had it for 7months. $190 shipped. Won't come off for about another week or so.
