Hi all --

It would be great to see more G8s. I will have my SBM GXP there, and quite often there is an MGM GXP up there that races with us also. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Thanks -- Hope to see you all there! Jackie A.

Hi -- Gates open at 3:00, time trials start about 3:30 & eliminations start about 7:00. Racers are $35 & spectators is $12. We are hoping for good weather (no rain).

Hope to see you there, Wyome....and any others.

Suss had it to fix a vibration in the wheels, got two new tires out of that. The drivers glass rattling when full down, and a squeak in the gear selector. Also they were going to fix the tint on the drivers window, but did a crap job. So they will fix that again.

Just got it back today and everything is good to go for Friday. I should be able to get there between 4 and 5. I think my wife even wants to come.

Marauder79 -- That is awesome that you got it back. Hopefully all is well with it. Will you be racing with us, or just watching? If you race, the earlier you get there the better -- If you are there by 4:30/5:00 you should get 2 time trials prior to eliminations that start about 7:00. I will PM you with my contact info so you can contact me once you are on the way or there.

Hopefully we will have good weather, and it would be great to see a few more G8s!

Jlasti - If I go out by myself I can get there earlier. If not I have to wait for my wife to get home. I think I will race. See if I can prove 14.7 in the 1/4 mile. I got your PM I will give you a call when I get close and see where you gus are at. Are you bringing the T/A out?

Hi -- Sounds great. We have a great time. We will have sub sandwhiches & bevereages there for our club. Non-members can pay $5 and bring a side dish if you'd like to join us, or you can bring your own food, or the concessions at Bandimere will be open.

As for the T/A ... it will be staying home. I will be driving the GXP, and my husband will have his '99 Grand Prix GTP there for the races.

Looking forward to meeting/seeing you! Again -- hope & pray for good weather!

See ya Tomorrow!

Wyome -- Thanks for the heads up. I hate those late afternoon duties. If you can't make it, we understand. We will be back up there on the 25th & again on Oct 2.

Marauder79 -- It is always nice to have contacts. I hope we have good weather!

Text or call me when you are up there & I will let you know where we are all pitted at. We usually have racers up there very early to save a row for our club -- usually a few rows past the concessions (so we can get to the "grand-stands" easily) by the big yellow storage sign.

WOW!!!! What a night!

Thanks Mike & David for showing up! It was great meeting you. I hope you had a great time!

As for me -- AWESOME!!! We had a great turn out for the club and earned many points. AND I went many rounds, all the way to the end, ended up taking Runner Up! I finally made it to the finals. Unfurtunately I lost -- but I had a GREAT time.

The air was awesome (for up here). I ran my best ET in the GXP of 14.06, and that was not full throttle at the end of the track. I am thinking it could have been a 13.9x run -- amazing for this altitude I think, and there wasn't a new Charger or Challenger there that ran a better time -- awesome after hearing all the dis-belief they had in a dial of a 14.10 on the car!

Again, thanks for coming. Hope to see you again. We will be there on Sept 25th & on Oct 2. Once Mike gets back from Iraq, we will have to try to set up another time to get together -- all the G8s in the area!

Thanks! Jackie

Hey Jacki! (Kris in the red GT) Great seeing you go all the way to the finals!

I broke out first round but during time trial got to go heads up with a Challenger SRT8! I killed her on the lights and beat her to the finish even though she ran about a 10th (only) faster than my GT.

I can't make the 25th but might make the makeup race on Oct 2nd, we'll see what the weather has in store.

I plan on going to the pontiac uprising in Witchita KS on Oct 9th and 10th weather permitting, see what the car runs at lower altitudes!!!:driving:

David -- thanks for the comments, I think we have a great club, a good bunch of poeple. And I agree, Mike and his family were wonderful! I wish him all the luck & safe travels to Iraq. Again, so glad you & your son were able to make it up there. Had a great time. Hopefully we will see you again. We'll be back on the 25th.

Hi Kris -- Thanks for staying to watch! I had a blast! It was great seeing you up there again & hopefully will see you on the 2nd of Oct. I will have to look at the calendar for the Witchita KS weekend. If you have anymore info, let me know.

It was great seeing more than 2 G8s up there -- there was at least 5 of us. Thanks again for coming! If you know any others, let them know about the 25th & Oct 2nd. The more the better -- everybody is welcome -- Watch or Race, we'd be happy to have ya there!

Hey Kris (and any others that are interested....)

I googled Pontiac Uprising and found this on the LS1GTO.com forum -- Info on the Witchita event you mentioned.

It was great to see three of us there! Good luck & safe travels.

Oh BTW for anybody interested -- there are two events this weekend at Bandimere, Best of Detroit Footbake Nationals is on Saturday & Sunday is World Tuner Challenge - open to all makes/models. We are thinking of going. If anybody else is interested, let me know. I will try to post another thread on it later.

Yes, It was the woman in the black one. I think she went a little faster over the evening but so did I. I'm looking forward to Kansas to go a little faster!

I lined up against her in elimiations a few events back, dialed in about 1/2 second faster and I won the round. Unfortunately it started to rain shortly after & the event was canceled, so it didn't count.

We have to be "hush hush" about it though. The mopar guys on this forum get a little grumpy when they hear/read that us G8s are faster than them.

I am not sure if we are going to be able to make it to Kansas. We may have an event here at Bandimere that night. We'll see. I posted a thread in the Drag racing section on this forum to see if there are any others that are planning on going - so far no responses.

Hey guys -- First race of the 2010 season in April 30! Can you believe it? Hope to have a good crowd.

Until then, we are having a gathering on January 23rd, 3:00 at Buffalo Wild Wings in Brighton -- 136th & I-76.
