When I purchased my SBM GXP, the dealer told me they could not use GMS because it was a special events vehicle etc [GM used it for events/shows/etc].

So I negotiated a deal. The salesman informed me that I could use $1500 in GM card points I had. No problem. Call GM card, he gets an authorization, etc while I am there, I sign. Done.

On my way in the next day with the check....get a call while en route from a salesman. The $1500 in points could not be applied because of the circumstances on the car.

Fine, buy it anyway a bit ticked but I wanted the SBM/M6/GXP.

Get a postcard in the mail from GM thanking me for using my GM card earnings...

I am going to call and find out what happened.

I still worked a great deal. But this little item has my interest....

Thoughts?

Check your earnings. If your balance is $0 then the dealer got paid and they owe you a check.

They could have kept the money.

In the line showing rebates, it should list the current rebates and the amount of points used combined.

If this is a used vehicle, points can not be applied to it.

What about "Demos" I bought my supossedly NEW car but after signing the sales slip as a new car the salesperson made me resign saying it was a demo model. I wanted the car so I didnt think there was any difference between demo or new both are considered "untitled" right"? I am wondering if I was "bait and switched" so to speek. I KNOW THOSE ARE ? I should have asked at the time but being a first time new car buyer I didnt know.

Demos are technically new in that they have not been titled, but if they have 5k on them, they are used. In my recent replacement search, I came across a few demos. The dealers were not offering any incentive to choose the demo over the truly new model. Price was the same. Warranty starts the day that the dealer put the car into service, not your purchase date. Sounds like they were not very forthcoming with you. For me, it would only be worth it for 5-10 percent below what a truly new one would cost.
