All I know is I have been very pleased with all the things I have purchased from K&N. They are a quality company. Their cold air intake has empirical data, not just made up horsepower numbers. Good Luck, Andy

I was planning to get one, since k&n are usually carb legal in California. But the g8 version is not, so I will be going with a more proven intake for the g8 like a rotofab.

Several people have said the k&n looks like the rotofab. So it should be fine.

Dont do it - get whats proven to get you the most out of your car.

Rotofab or Vararam OTR

rotofab w/tune - approximately 325 - 335rwhp

Vararam w/tune - approximately 330-340rwhp

I dont mind mine, K&N did use my car for testing, and I think I had the first production kit for the G8...I have a thread posted here "K&N CAI soon available" I think thats the name of the thread.

I like it, but I dont have any comparison, and I havnt run a dyno on before/after comparison. Everyone has their own opinion on intakes....All I care about is numbers and K&N has proven extremely well for me in the past.

Huh? Dude, I am not trying to start a debate, but a Cold Air Intake CANNOT quote rear wheel horsepower numbers... that's not possible, since you have no empirial data for the rear wheel horsepower before the CAI.

A CAI can only quote increase HP numbers for the same car BEFORE the intake was installed.

I'm not saying Rotofab or Vararam are bad; in fact, I like them both. I am just saying they cannot quote rwhp numbers !
