This morning on my way to work, I had my cruise set at 68 mph. I went to pass someone and acceleated to about 75mph. As I was passing this person, I looked at the DIC and the gear selection came up. It went from drive to park, and then back to drive. As I passed the other car, I let my car decel, but it did not go back into cruise. I tried switching it off and then back on, but it would not hold speed.
Then at lunch, I went out and tried out cruise and it worked. Last month I had the two recalls done. (TPMS reprogram and Brake Lamps Stay on/Cruise Inop.)
Anybody know what could have caused this.

You do know that after extended acceleration with cruse enabled it will shut off automatically. Computer assumes you don't want cruse anymore. I can't explain why it would not work if you turned off then back on.

I had this happen once as well.
Near the end of a 3,000 mile road trip. Exited the interstate, shut the car off, then resumed the trip about 30 minutes later. When I got back on the interstate, the cruise would turn on, but would not engage.
The "fix" was to pull off the road, turn off the car, and restart. It has worked fine ever since. I'd like to mention it to the dealer, but how in the world could they duplicate the problem?
