Anyone seen where the G-8 falls in stock class? Just curious, as it didn't make the copy of the 2008 rule book I last looked at.

It doesn't seem to be listed in the 2008 "Stock Category Classifications By Manufacturer" spreadsheet shown here:

http://www.scca.org/documents/Solo%20Rules/2008_Stock_Category_Classifications_By_Manufacture r.pdf

However, the GTO and the late-model Firebird WS6 and Formula WS6 are both in F Stock, so I would hazard an uninformed guess that the G8 GT would fit that category.

I can't see any possible reason why it wouldn't end up in Fstock. It's gonna get spanked by Shelby mustang and late model Fbods. Just can't make up for the weight, just like the GTO.

I'm considering getting another set of tire/wheels for solo and was wondering if the computer will get upset if I don't run the tire pressure sensors (and save $240)?

As far as I know it's unclassified. I was advised by SCCA to run it in FS at a Solo II event today, and advised to keep an eye on upcoming FasTrack news to see if and where they classify it.

If you wanna stay in stock class new wheels and tires have to be same diamater and tire size as stock wheels, optional or standard.

the previous post is correct you do have to keep the same size wheels if you want ot run in a stock class. However, you can fit a larger/wider tire on the production or same size aftermarket wheel. So if the car came with a 245/50ZR16 you could run 255/50ZR16 on that same wheel. This use to be a popular solution on 3rd & 4th gen F-cars. I two IROC's I solo'ed in.

Yeah, that's correct. Some classes, like STX that I raced in, restrict tire sizes.
In stock classes you may fit the widest tire that you want or can.
