MPG - Not posted Yet has to be less than 15/24 of GT so maybe 12/20??
HP - about 400 vs. GT 361
Options - Only one different than GT is manual vs. automatic. Actually the only option in the GXP will be manual and sunroof
Price-nothing official but most likely $35-40K
Wheels - 19" Chrome similar to the 2008 GT Pre-Production Cars also offering all season 19" tires
0-60 - Estimated at 4.7 sec vs. GT 5.3
Not to mention
Brembo brakes
Different seats
LS3 engine
Ryan M 04-28-2008, 03:26 AM As for EPA MPG:
The 2008 Corvette with the 6.2L LS3 & 430HP is 16/26... which is BETTER than the G8 GT.
The Corvette does weigh 3,200-3,300 pounds, but does have more power... so im sure the MPG could be about the same.
It would also depend on the gearing too...
But I cant see it being worse than 14/24... Even 505HP 7.0L LS7 gets 15/24
jerminator 04-28-2008, 08:44 AM I'd put money on the GXP getting an EPA highway rating of less than 24. The Corvette is much lighter than the G8 and the gearing is completely different too. The LS3 does not have DOD, so it's going to hurt the highway mileage along with the overall lower gearing (higher cruising RPM). We'll find out soon enough though and won't have to guess anymore.

Final drive ratio on the auto GXP is 3.27 and on the manual it is 3.70. The GT is 2.92.
Torqued 04-28-2008, 12:26 PM I heard the mileage to be 13/21
Atlas 04-28-2008, 12:36 PM if the 5000lb 400 hp TBSS with a 4L70E can get 15-19, the gxp should be able to get 15-22... especially with the two extra cogs...

I was just thinking the same thing. As I read through this thread, I can't help but think the GXP should be able to do better than the 12/16 my truck gets. I would hope that 14+ would be possible in the city
OilfieldSS 04-28-2008, 02:41 PM i hope its better than the TBSS, im about to sell mine and put myself in my fiance's honda fit til the GXP comes out. if its not too much better, i may just have to go with the GT.
Longevity 04-29-2008, 08:34 AM This article from GMInside News http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/f67/confirmed-ls3-replace-ls2-across-entire-hsv-e-series-range-april-62360/ states that the LS3 engine is expected to have practically the same mileage rating as the LS2 in automatic mode - 14.5 ltr per 100 km (LS3) vs. 14.4 ltr per 100 km (LS2). Converted to mpg's, these figures work out to 16.22 (LS3) vs. 16.33 (LS2). Knowing that the G8's LS2 gets 16/24, hopefully, once SAE certifications are done, we can see 16/23 for the GXP.

except the "G8's LS2" is actually a L76. Which means -39 hp and +AFM. 16/23 would be about impossible, unless of course 4th-6th gears have ratios like 0.90, 0.78, 0.63 .....
SPARKYBOY5X8 04-30-2008, 10:29 PM MPG will be like all manual cars, which is better than the automatics. It'll have no AFM ( Thank God), It's still heavy and that means it's 402 lb\ft tq will not make it to fast to 60 mph: say 4.6 sec at best with DR's on an otherwise stock car, or stock everything including the tires and 0-60 in 4.8 sec. Remember 0-to 80 mph is torque, above that it's all about hp. So it'll be about on even par with the 300C SRT8 which is the lightest and fastest of the SRT8 sedans, from a 0-80 mph stand point as the SRT is 180+ lbs heavier. Sadly it'll have skinny 8" tires just like the GTO had= Bad for traction! Cost: $ 37-40k. The GT does 0-60 mph in 5.5 sec. That's what an unamed source that I know inside pontiacs testing arm told me, he said manufactures tend to overstate performance numbers to help the brand sell. My friend next door has confirmed 0-60 in about 5.5 to 5.6 with his dash hawk.... You're not going to get great 0-60 numbers in a 3900 lb car with 2.92 rear in an automatic equipped car, just not going to happen.

Not too fast, huh? :slap:
